Franchise is tough when using the Cowboys!

Not much room under the cap right from the start. Too many players with killer contracts. I went through about 8 seasons with Dallas when Madden 10 first came out and did ok. Since then, I just can't seem to make it work.

One thing you can do to get rid of large contracts **cheese alert** is to sign them to a one year deal before heading into the offseason. They will then become a FA and you have nothing to worry about.

Except that you do have a choice...no one's holding a gun to your head.

I don't recall having any real problems. Just don't go incurring cap penalties by trading players away or cutting them, at times when the penalty will be bigger than that years salary.
You will likely be unable to re-sign Choice and Scandrick at the expiry of their contracts, but both are #3 players for Dallas who can get #1 salary for teams they sign with.

My buddy saved 29mill just by extending Tony Romo's contract, of course this was yr 3 of the Chise, so Romo wasn't rated as a top 5 qb. He also let Flo go and saved on that too. Its not easy, just gotta try and get players to extend and take a cut while doing so.

Just re-sign/re-work them to a 1 year deal before entering the off-season. That way the contract ends after you enter the off-season instead of having another 4 or 5 years remaining. No cap penalties, etc.
