Minor League Rosters - Real Players?

The developer blog mentioned everything but the rosters when he mentioned minor leagues. Will the minor league rosters feature the real players and associated ratings for each farm team?

For instance will the Cubs have a Josh Vitters 3B in their minor leagues? Will the Braves have Jason Heyward in their minors?

All players will be in the game, but only the ones that have played an MLB game will have their real name. The rest of them will look similar, but you'll have to change the ratings and names.

To bad seeing as how 2k has the official third part rights that they don't also have minor league rights as EA does with the NHL series.

It's because of the way the MLB player's union is structured. It doesn't cover any MiLB players and they also don't have their own official players union either. Not much any game developer can really do about it.

Last year the MiLB players had the same first and last name initials as their real life counterparts. I also believe they played the correct positions and had comparable ratings to their real life counterpart.

For example, Colby Rasmus was named Clint Ranier (or something similar). Brett Wallace could be Bill Williams.

Alcides Escobar could be Alan Evans.

It makes it easy when going through and editing the Minor Leaguers to have real names. If memory serves, I think you could only edit a maximum of 150 players with 2k9. So you could do a few teams, but not all. Hopefully they got rid of that cap.

They have similar names and positions. Josh Vitters might be Jerry Vaginatoli or something similar.

okay, here's the major problem i have here - can someone answer this for me?

last year you could ONLY edit 150 of those fake name players...have they expanded this to ALL of them?

if not, it's a HUGE damper on this game. i don't know if the developers are reading these forums, but we want 100% editing on these names for every fake player!
