    Hard to score goals

I have been playing on All-Pro and Pro and I am having a hard time scoring goals. I bought the game a few days ago and it's my first time to play the series since NHL 08. Should I just edit the sliders to help produce more goals? I also noticed that the computer doesn't score much more than me. Anyway, it seems like a really fun game but it is very frustrating only averaging one goal per game. Also, what is the most realistic time for each period? (I've been playing on 5 mins)

Well Marcus there are a few things you can try...

    1. Lowering the cpu goalies reaction slider to zero.

    2. Have your shot aim on "Auto".

    3. Up your shot power slider.

    4. Mix up the way you attack the cpu. Trying to score the same way all the time will eventually get shutdown by the cpu. [Learning AI]

    Hope this helps. Good luck!

Never did have that much fun playing vs. the CPU myself, but I find it's best to try to set up cross-crease passes. Aside from that, when you can't set anything up take slow wrist shots at the goalie's pads and he'll kick out big rebounds fairly frequently. For some reason the worst goalies can control the hardest shots in this game, but not the other way around.

This approach is probably viewed as cheapy, and I may have to agree. But that's why I'm hopeful that 11 has goalies that play like human beings.

Another tip is try to get the tender moving by cycling the puck in the zone, looking for screens in front (players blocking a goaltender's view of the shot coming) and generally being patient while on offense. You can actually get a pretty good variety of goals in 10 be it clean wristers, slappers, rebounds, or tip in and deflections just by setting up in the offensive zone and working the puck to get quality chances.

i find the easiest way to score is to aim where the goalie isn't
