I apologize if this has already been answered, but I am confused as to whether I can use the new online dynasty features (recruiting, setting depth charts, etc from my PC and Iphone) if I am just using an offline dynasty? I can't tell for sure from the reviews. Or the reviews mention public v. private online dynasties - does that mean I can set up an online dynasty, set it to private, and be the only human user (in effect, an offline dynasty online?).

Any help would be greatly appreciated. If I can use the online features without having to be in a standard online dynasty, I am buying this for sure!

you can run a single player online dynasty that will give you all the OD tools in a single player environment.

how do i set up my online dynasty for just 1 player? i just see join other dynastys

once you get the game you can start your own online dynasty and make it private.

Here are the big drawbacks to hosting a single player OD:

1.) You can not host more than 1 OD unless you buy additional slots from EA. So if you plan on being the commish of a league with buddies you are out of luck.

2.) No conference invites.

3.) Dynasty Wire is present just for your game- you can write a story about your team for those on the web, but you will still get generic stories w/no highlights for every other team in the game. I know it sounds lame, but one of the coolest thing about OD this year is that the Dynasty Wire allows you to see hightlights of games around the NCAA (for teams controlled by other users).
