What player do you control on Defense and why?

I usually just control a DE.... but have switched to MLB. My problem with controlling anyone else besides the line is that if they pass to the guy my MLB is covering, I somehow screw it all up and it breaks for a 80 yard touchdown because of my missed assignment.

Just wondering if anyone controlled anyone in the secondary and any tips on how to be effective

Depends on what part of the defense decides to be incompetent. If everybody is playing their role well i go D line and pray to get a few sacks

MLB also. I just make sure he is in a blitz on every play in order to freelance with him.

If you want to be good playing corner, you either need a really big TV so you can see the entire field when the ball is snapped, or, player lock on him. Otherwise, saftey is really the position where zero skill is needed.

Most years I will play as one of the LB's, usually the MLB. This year though I've primarily played as my star defensive end Allen Bailey. I seem to be able to do a lot of damage when playing as him. After he leaves I may go back to using my LB's again. Most of the time it's 80% LB 20% DL.

I run a 3-3-5 D so It's important I control the MLB and make up for mismatches. I have a hard time covering in man to man schemes as well. But I'm getting better.

Depends on if my best player is a DE or DT. If there is no stud to control on the d-line than usually a linebacker.

I used to play the left defensive end, but nowadays I love to stuff the run as a DT

DE 25% of the time, MLB 75%. When I play MLB I try to have him on a blitz or in a short zone so I can either control his assignment myself (those are two fairly easy ones) or freelance.
