Better Conference Invite

I was just curious if anybody else played with teams in a weak conference as to when you get an invite into a bigger conference. I'm halfway through my second season with Kent State. So far, I haven't lost a game yet and wanted to know on average when you get the invite.

Re: Better Conference Invite

From reading other threads, it happens in the off-season and it's pretty random. It's been confirmed that it does happen though. You could get one after a year or two, or not at all.

Re: Better Conference Invite

I am Western Kentucky and after my second season and having gone to two bowls and losing, and winning the Sun Belt Conference Championship in that second season, I was invited to join the SEC. I took the invite and cannot wait to jump into my third year.

Re: Better Conference Invite

Its very random. I'm playing as ULM I re-aligned the conferences but I was still in the Sun Belt. After finishing 3rd or 4th year 1, I received an invite to the Big 12. So I have no clue what makes an offer come down.

Re: Better Conference Invite

There's not an exact science to it. It's all about prestige though. If you are 2 stars, and one of the better conferences in your region has a 1 star team, there's a small chance you can be invited. More prestige relative to the worst team in a superior regional conference gives you a better chance, but you could get to 6 stars and not get invited yet.

Re: Better Conference Invite

From what I gather, having a 1-star team in the corresponding BCS conference in your region is pretty much a requirement.

Anyone experience anything that would show otherwise?
