I guess it's good since it's for charity but, in the end it's just more people for me to adjust their rating's down. I'm looking at you "Make a Wish kid" and Joe Walsh.

Honestly if I was in the game the first thing I would do is delete myself. That or I would have to somehow make it in the NFL. It is cool they are auctioning off spots for charity.

Re: EA auctioning a spot on madden 12

I love the idea of auctioning off a spot in video games for charity, but not this way. It doesn't belong in the starting roster for a sports game. The rosters are what they are (in the NFL), and it is silly to add "players" to the NFL who don't exist. Couldn't the same result be obtained, albeit without ruining realistic rosters, by auctioning off a spot in the first draft? Great idea for videogames in general though. I applaud EA for doing this. (Not to get political here, but I would have preferred the Make a Wish Foundation, American Cancer Society, Special Olympics or some other charity which benefits Veterans or works to cure disease - I am not a fan of the ACLU and would never bid to benefit that organization; please excuse the off topic note).

I agree that the chosen charity is a bit controversial...seems like a big company would be a bit more conservative with their choice of charity.

At any rate, I would never bid because I also think it's dumb to have a roster spot taken up by a non-NFL player, and because I would never get to see myself in the game since I have no plans to own any Madden games for the forseeable future...

Re: EA auctioning a spot on madden 12

Are they really going to stick the player on a team? This year Robert You showed up in Free Agency, and is the bargain of the decade.

First thing I always do is edit myself onto the Seahawks roster. After 3 years as starting HB, I'm tough as teak but my hands are wooden (read, no injuries, many fumbles).

I actually don't mind them doing this, so long as there is the option to edit them out of the game. And at least it's not as radical as the 9 year old girl robo-goalie that featured on NHL... was it last year or the year before?
