HB Counter=Cheese?

I'm able to run this play against the computer and have some significant success with it. I usually only run it out of singleback big (two TE's on either side) and it's usually good for a 100 yard game for my RB no matter what, depending on how good the CPU defense is rated. I'm just wondering what you guys think about this, and if you've noticed this as well.

I've noticed that with a good o-line the counter is extremely effective as the guards are impeccable at picking up free defenders and linebackers. With a bad o line its not as successful.

Definitely. The only way the CPU can really stop it against me is if they get good pursuit by the backside DT and the playside DE blows up the TE. Otherwise, it's a sure 5 yards everytime.

Re: HB Counter=Cheese?

Some guy using Va Tech ran it against me yesterday all game. I finally figured out what it was and after 3 quarters I figured out how to stop it but it was a headache. He kept getting 6-7 yards a carry and I couldn't do anything about it. Zone blitzes and not trying to blow up the play from the beginning is the key. I kept over running the play trying to catch him 3 yards behind the line.

If you control the safety and know it's coming you can shoot the gap left by the guard and blow it up in the backfield. No it's not cheese if it's mixed in with other types of runs.
