mkharsh33 - NBA 2K11 - Pro - REAL PLAYER % SLIDERS

SLIDERS UPDATED ... Be sure to double-check what you have against these new updates.

If you are getting shooting percentages for user that are too high, just tone down the user inside shot, close shot, mid-range, 3 pt and layup success down 1 click each (or the area on the floor you feel are too high). If you are seeing the CPU shoot too high a percentage, just do the same (tone those 5 categories down 1 click each).

Also, there is an issue with shooting fouls. I believe the latest update fixes that (personally this is where I'll be staying - the 62 (user) and 68 (cpu) numbers noted below).

I have also uploaded these to 2K Share today as well...

Feedback appreciated, as we all want to get this right! Thanks, Mike

Re: mkharsh33 - NBA 2K11 - Pro - REAL PLAYER % SLIDERS

Your sliders are GREAT, you even got realistic offensive rebounds (13, 11). And let me say my game really truly did have those "omg, this is real life" moments. Players played and acted as they should and everything. That said, there were 2 issues.

-Lakers (cpu) went 0/12 from 3. I was Miami, and we went 6/19(30ish%, league average so great.) I know it was just 1 game, but 0/12 is a bit much.

- Both teams shot too much. Miami had 29 free throws, ok...but shot 83 times. Lakers had 26 free throws, ok...but shot 88 times. With such high free throw numbers (about league average, again great job.) The total FGA should've been in the 70s.

Miami-Me (Away) Lakers-CPU (Home)
88 Points 94
29/83 Field Goals 36/88
34% 3 Pointers 0/12
31% 3 Pointer % 0%
24/29 Free Throws 22/26
82% Free Throw % 84%
16 Assists 16
9 Turnovers (2 were from me being away from controller) 5
16 Team Fouls 16
49 Total Rebounds 53
13 Offensive Rebounds 11
5 Steals 6
5 Blocks 2
34 Points in the Paint 66 (my fault lol)
17 Bench Points 29
11 Second Chance Points 12
6 Fast Break Points 18

Thanks, and glad you like them. From your style of play, let me suggest two fixes:

- raise the CPU three point shooting success slider to 53.

- lower your settings to 10 minute quarters.

Glad to see you are giving Real FG% a try, MK. The only time I wind up using Shot Stick timing now is in MyPlayer and Jordan Challenge.

Re: mkharsh33 - NBA 2K11 - Pro - REAL PLAYER % SLIDERS

rody: this is an updated set that i've revamped. i HATED the game with strength at 95 - too much bumping and took the fun away. so i did a lot of testing and toyed around with things to make it look and feel more like NBA basketball, all the while keeping the shooting percentages realistic and having the CPU provide a solid challenge.

Dan: I had two sets listed in my other thread, but if you weren't interested in the shot stick you would never visit (thread made no mention). so i've basically left that there for those who liked them.

this game has a different feel with real player % being used. it's hard to explain, but it's noticeably different in the feel of things. what i was seeing with the strength too high was pathetic animations in the paint that looked nothing like realistic shots. so i scrapped that and went in a different direction. in doing so i maxed out the cpu on-ball defense and it plays like nba basketball defensively without all the contact and morphed animations on defense. it feels a lot "looser" now which is good because it has the feel (at least to me) of how nba 2k8 played (which with regard to actual game play is hands down the best nba game i've played). with this set i think i found it.

there's only one issue and that's steals. i'm still not 100% happy with them, but i'm going to do some more testing...

my plan is to raise steal success (under the defensive sliders) in increments of 5 on both sides until i feel good about what i see. i want the challenge, but i want it to be fair...

appreciate feedback on these... thanks!
