***Statement from Community Manager "ICE" from Eutechnyx

Just wanted to give you guys a heads up.. I was on the mainboards of nascar the game and found this:

ICE- Eutechnyx Community Manager

Statement from Ice

We are committed to the NASCAR franchise for the long term and want to make improvements not just to this version of the game but also future versions.

We also appreciate your comments good and bad, without negative comments nothing would ever improve and games would just stay the same, we just ask that you do it in constructive and respectful manner.

We will be releasing another patch to fix the issues brought to our attention as soon as we can but these things take time not only develop but to also test and then submit to Sony and Microsoft. So we ask that in the mean time please try to see the good in the game and help us to make a better game for everybody and I'm sure with your help we can.

Just a FYI

That's great! But.... when are these game companies going to learn to quit releasing games that are partially broken? Why risk the reputation of your company to save a few dollars? It makes sense to hire people who have in depth knowledge of the sport to test the game. There is no way some of these issues should have made it into final release. I assume there was very little to no testing done with this game. I feel bad for these guys in a way...

Most if not all the issues shouldn't have had to be "brought to their attention"
They seem to be pretty obvious and glaring issues.

When a company says "see the good in the game" that leads me to believe they knew there were a plethora of issues with it.

Re: ***Statement from Community Manager "ICE" from Eutechnyx

I'm starting to get fed up with games being released "pre-maturely" with bugs and fixes that should have been dealt with and identified in the testing phase. It doesn't make sense to me for a company to release a game with so many bugs. They get crappy reviews and as a result don't sell as many games. Not too mention they need to pay for the team to work on patches instead of DLC (which seems to be the focus on many gaming companies for extra revenue).

NASCAR The Game 2011 is not the only game to do this recently. From impressions I've read, it seems Shift 2 has some issues with handling (swaying back and forth). TDU2 was full of bugs and after playing with it for a week and getting impatient for the patch (plus seeing Shift 2 and Nascar on the horizon) I decided to sell it on eBay. I got very lucky and managed to sell the used copy for the same price I bought the game, primarily due to the fact that I never used my Casino DLC code.

Yesterday I went to bed thinking that NASCAR The Game 2011 and Shift 2 would be buys for me, but luckily I learned my lesson from TDU2 (buying release day) and waited until I read some impressions and reviews. I will most likely buy Shift 2, although there are mixed impressions...but I am in need of a good racing game (entertainment value over sim...although sim is important to me). That is aside from the point, I think developers need to focus on releasing these games FINISHED and without bugs.

Yes, they had to know about some of these issues. I haven't played enough to run into some of them yet but I'm sure I will. I just hope they fix them. F1 2010 could have been a near perfect game but Codemasters gave up on it and didn't do anything after the first patch even though it still had some pretty bad bugs. I hope these guys don't do the same thing.

Um, no. I'm not waiting for a patch since the Devs said the game was pushed back to deal with these issues. I'll catch Nascar 2012 next year.
