No no no I made like 30 mil after the season was over but trying to resign my players after player retirements I couldn't cause I was 20 mil in the hole after having 20 mil in cap room the year before.

you probably released and traded away players with signing bonuses which in total are about equal to what you have in cap penalties right now.

I have cap penalties of 8 mill in my second year, from now on, I wont give huge bonuses to players I feel wont be around for awhile.

I didn't have any players retire.

When you trade a player, you're still responsible for his signing bonus.

i took big hits from releasing players which will be like $2 million then i trade Brunell and Smith which both had bonuses of like $2.20 million or so. so i will be in a big hole. thats alright though.
