I always thought since the implementation of tendencies that is was a great idea as it really makes you feel like a coach and adjust to different schemes based on the players or personnel you are facing in a particular week.

However, going aggressive on almost all is a joke, as the have the negative results far out weigh any positive effects which makes them unusable to me.

Want to go for the 'big run' well count on 10 fumbles a game.

Want to have some impact blocks, well count on 10 clipping calls a game

Want to go for some YAC, well you will be dropping more than you catch.

I was hoping that having these adjustments would increase the tendency of the negative things to happen, yet I hardly see any increased broken tackles or any positive effect, though the negatives are just rediculous. Balanced and conservative seem to be the only way to go.

Can anyone else relate?

YES!

This is especially true in online play. I keep all my settings on balanced except pass defense and sometimes DLine.

I often have to put my running game on conservative because on balanced (with the opponents strip on aggressive) I fumble way too much. Catching on aggressive I drop everything.

Balanced/Conservative is the only way to play a competitive game

Re: Aggressive "Adjustments" - Only seeing the negative effect?

LOL, I was just reading a thread a couple of days ago about guys complaining just the opposite, that the Aggressive game plan resulted in only positive effects and was bring seriously abused online. I then played a fellow coach from my league in many games to try to determine the effects of various game plans. Turns out it's very well balanced with some rewards (such as more forced fumbles from a defensive aggressive plan) and some punishment (such as more offsides penalties from a defensive aggressive game plan).

I think people play a game, observe something and draw conclusions from it. You really need to just widen your amount of data you are looking at (games being played) in order to get accurate results of whether or not something is a real issue. I don't think this is an issue.

I honestly feel like there is little punishment from using an aggressive DL strategy, you can literally "jump the snap" (why is this even still in the game?!?!?!?!) about 9 times for every 1 offsides called on the defense.

Clueless question for teh day - where do you set this? I've dug around in the menus for my franchise and haven't been able to find these settings (PS3). Only thing close i can find is playcalling settings, but I dont think this is what you are referring to.

Any help?
