VandyRedskins Coach Mode Sliders (20 min)

I know that not a ton of people like coach mode but for the people that are at least interested in playing coach mode here are some sliders that I sort of made.

I say sort of because they are based off of sliders by people playing on an online legacy (off of 2kshare).

The sliders may look ridiculousy biased towards the cpu BUT coach mode in general is heavily biased toward the user. If any of you followed my UC Davis legacy you saw that I absolutely dominated my conference once I made my switch to coach mode because the sliders were not geared towards the cpu.

The sliders are meant to make realistic statistics in a game.

There are still a couple things I'm trying to tweak (mainly lower the shooting % for both teams, rebounding, and the right amount of shot attempts) but other than that I really like these sliders.

And lastly in order to have realistic statistic and actual basketball gameplay, your coach settings (tempo, crash boards, etc) have to be set fairly low. I remember there being a thread that had set tempos and defensive pressures for each team (i.e. Vandy had 20 tempo and 10 defensive pressure). The fast break rating should be somewhere around 30 and you'll have tweak that to your team preference and crash board needs to be somewhere around 15 because if the crash board rating is around 60ish you will have way too many offensive rebounds.

Using your own created playbooks are encouraged.

Team Unity: 70/70 (USER PREFERENCE)
Dunks in Traffic: 60/60
Screen Success: 80/80
Screen Strength: 25/25
Steal Success: 65/100
Help Defense and Recovery: 0/100

Fitness is all user reference.


When playing in coach mode with these sliders you have to actually pay attention. If you are not actually "coaching" during the game, you might just want to do cpu vs cpu.

Any feedback at all is welcome. Post-game statistics would be awesome too.

...just recently got the game and have started my Legacy (likewise with UC Davis) and noticed that I am not getting the usual turnovers and steals, and there was a lot of assist passes. But I will try your sliders and I hope it satisfies.

Well with this game you will never really get an accurate count on turnovers because turnovers like bad passes and things of that nature just don't happen in this game. Just something you've got to live with.

(Just to make things clear these are for coach mode strictly. Since you said you just got the game i just wanted to make sure that was clear.)

...yes, I am playing coach mode (and nothing else). yes, I just got the game after I sold my NCAA Basketball 10. still surprises me why 2k Sports won't make another game like this and similarly All Pro Football 2k8.

Oh ok just making sure cuz most people don't seem to like coach mode.. And yea it sucks that they don't make a new one.. We can only hope that they bring it back

It may be a placebo to you, but once the switch to Coach Mode the user sliders do not apply anymore.
