I was planning to work on an edit for MLB 2k12 for 360 , but have no clue what might need fixing just yet and have no clue if the editing player interface has changed or added new things.

2 years ago MLB needed a speed and catching edit etc. Those issues should no longer be present so a ratings and appearance edit might be again in order.

You might want to do yours separately. You have always combined BOTH rosters and sliders together, and make changes to yours that many don't based upon the visuals/animations you are striving to achieve. Also, I want to keep up with transactions more quickly, as well as getting as many of the minor league players put in as possible (the top 250 MLB prospects would be awesome to add).

The only issue we don't know is how MANY roster edits (ie: minor leaguers) for NAMES can we get??

Again, I respect your work... But I don't think how you do yours is conducive to a "community" effort as there are certain attribute AND slider tweaks that are unique to your work. Make sense?

How would a community roster work for 2K? I know in The Show that one person can work on a team (or more, depending on how much work they want to do) and then the "lead" editor can import that work onto his roster. Does it work the same way here?

it would more or less be coordinating who does what and when they do it and transferring the file your working on between each other over 2kshare.

like player1 does all the fielder edits, loads that file to 2kshare, then player2 downloads, does all the pitching edits, etc.

and for what its worth i'd be down to help with a community roster. i know we had some slight disagreements in the old roster file and i can kinda see how i came across wrong which snowballed into nothing productive. but as far as track record concerns the edits i mentioned in the roster thread last year and literally all the stance/delivery edits me and philliesfan136 made it into the 2k official roster (which could be good or bad with some of the moves they make haha) but i couldn't have been that far off. so just extending the offer, and i'd be willing to do much more than just the phillies obviously but i have a feeling that me trying to get them across so much previously that it seemed like my opinions were biased. but i love doing stance/delivery/rating/tendency edits i cant create a person for the life of me though

If there's a way to share CAP work, that could be an option as well.

But again have no clue how 2Kshare or even then the create a player interface night look?

I would hope it would incorporate gthe same aesthetics as NBA 2K12?

But again we don have the game yet, to know

IM in if we can make it work properly.
I like everyone else think we have to wait see what edit functionality we have to work with in 2K12.

              cheers

Pretty sure I have myself convinced to grab the 2k Combo Pack, so I'd be happy to help where needed.

I'd love to see the community work on the minors too. Last year it was awesome to have A-AAA nearly completed.

I already DM you MKmarsh about already planning on doing rosters by myself, but I'll be happy do help and do one as a team. I am very good at editing all pitcher speeds and ratings using 3 or 4 websites I have, and having done this last year. Also, I planned on doing all AAA and AA rosters this year and putting in the Top 100 to 150 players that are young and are still in single A.

Re: MLB 2K12 - COMMUNITY ROSTER EFFORT?

So I mostly lurk a lot and use a lot of sliders and rosters on all 2kgames from OS. I never really contributed anything before but I do have a lot of time on my hands and plan on playing this game a lot. Im not very good at creating players and changing stances etc., but Im a stat freak and always looking to get the most realistic rosters as possible. Anything I could do to help would be cool.

I would like to say that this could work very easily once we figure out the systems behind the game and who needs edits or if any sliders are way out of whack. It would definitley have to be coordinated by a few people who are on all the time. One person would start upload their roster onto 2kshare, then the next person downloads that file off 2kshare. They make their edits upload it onto 2kshare. The next person makes their edits, and on and on. The people coordinating it would review the rosters after edits and check to see how realistic (if thats what we're going for) they are then maybe take a vote or something on re-edits. Pass it off to one to one of them they edit and pass it on to the next person.

It would be awesome to get a lot of people involved and we could have an almost (real) living roster.

Just my ideas, but I'm down whatever way we choose.

Re: MLB 2K12 - COMMUNITY ROSTER EFFORT?

I have purchased the game. Haven't played yet, but I'll get there...I know what to expect with this game, so gameplay isn't that important to me at the moment. The new patch impressions convinced me to pull the trigger.

I have downloaded 2K's newest roster. I am working through it to get the MAJOR LEAGUE rosters: lineups and pitching staffs - correct. I am creating the Rule 5 players that were left off, as well as a LOT of Japanese players that are missing. I am using www.mlbdepthcharts.com as my guide (as I always do). These will be PROJECTED 25 man rosters. I have 17 teams almost complete (I am up to the Orioles, starting from the Angels and working toward the Yankees) with 13 yet to go. The minors will not be perfect, but if I work on these some more tonight (after my family heads to bed) I should be able to get a roster up on 2K Share...you will NOT be disappointed!

I am very impressed with 2K's effort this year... And I have to laugh: it appears 2K is using mlbdepthchart's rosters for the most part. I'm not going to provide a list of what I've done - it's too extensive. But I'll post back when I'm done. This would be an outstanding base to use for a community effort, so after I put it up I'd like for it to be reviewed and then we can make some determinations from there. Thanks!
