Ok, what the heck is the OSFM roster?

I see a lot of people here talking about this infamous OSFM roster due out around opening day. It is supposed to have full minor league rosters and on and on....

My 2 questions are what the heck does OSFM stand for?

And, is this something that prompts us to download it when we fire up the game? (Similar to the prompt I got 1st time loading the game to download March 6 roster update).

OSFM stands for Operation Sports Full Minors. You will have to go to the Roster Vault to download the roster. Only Sony's "official" roster updates will prompt you to download them. Have fun!

dont start franchise without it.

or u could download it to a flash drive....either way, the OSFM rosters are the best thing since slice cheese!

The only thing that bothers me is that I wont be able to use the roster updates throughout the season. Like if a trade goes down, a free agent signing, ratings changes or injuries. The OSFM roster don't take care of this. At least I don't believe that they do. How do you guys deal with these issues?

So it is a roster created by fans of the game from this forum and not SCEA.

Yeah, I'll think I will pass for possible player favorability reasons. I want play with the rosters SCEA puts out so I know certain players aren't "boosted" unfairly.

Previously I thought it was some official roster that prompted to download in game so I was waiting before starting my Season mode with the Brewers. I have been playing RTTS exclusively and will still spend most my time in there with my SS and SP.

But knowing this I'll just start my Season now. (I don't have interest in Franchise mode, more depth than I want personally)
