NCAA13 Coach Mode Play Style

I am starting a new thread for all of us Coach Mode players. To explain: Coach Mode play is the style of play in which the Human-coached team calls the plays, then lets the CPU run the plays. For a "Play-Now" type of game, select the "Coach A Game" option. I am not sure how to best play a Coach Mode type of game in Dynasty Mode - perhaps the best way will be to turn on the AutoPass Option. Or, perhaps Coach A Game also works in Dynasty Mode (Comments?).

I am interested in discsussions between Coach Mode players on issues such as slider settings, playbook development, player ratings, and other game options. My belief is that playing in Coach Mode is substantially different than playing in the mode in which the Human controls a player such as the QB or a defensive player and I believe the game performs differently when played in Coach Mode versus the player-control mode.

At the Moderator's suggestion, I am starting this new thread for Coach Mode play style. We may also need to start a new thread in the
Slider section for Coach Mode sliders.

In Dynasty, when you select your team in the pre-game menu each week, you can change the control option for the game from Normal to "Coach Mode".

Also, one thing that makes Dynasty different when playing Coach Mode is recruiting - particularly the offensive skill positions. When looking for a QB or HB, things like their tendencies and certain stats like ball carrier vision matter more.

Just got it today.So haven't played a lot yet.Love the thread dedicated to coach mode because it's the only way I play.So far feels much like last year with improved passing game.Unlike many others I enjoyed last year in coach mode,but the tendency bug eventually killed it for me.Now begins my quest to come up with some good coach mode sliders or find somebody else's that are good.First game in trying the ones I used last year and go from there on what needs adjusting.Looking forward to discussing strategy and what not regarding coach mode this year in this thread

I have started a dynasty using Coach Mode. I'm over fifty never really got the hang of controllers! Coach Mode is perfect, i like the TV veiw of the action also.

I am using Sydeburnz' HEISMAN Dynasty Coaching Sliders which seem to be doing fairly well considering they were made for last years edition.

I am 3-0 as the Rebel coach. Beat Memphis but they had more offensive yardage. Beat UTEP handily then scored an upset over Texas 27 to 24.

Too early to tell but might have to adjust the sliders a bit...but then again could be a lucky start, not enough data to tell. I want it to be realistic, so I don't want to totally over achieve.

One longterm goal will be to convert Ole Miss to a pro style offence, but I have to do some recruiting to pull that off!

Coach moder here. I've read that if you still have 12 there's really no need to "upgrade" to 13. Thoughts?

I'm in like my 4th season at FAU and enjoying my dynasty in 12 so I'd kind of hate to start from scratch.

As long as your ok with the tendency bug id Probaly agree.I think 12 is a little better coach mode style,but not too signifigantly

I'm a newer coach mode guy. Played a season as Ole Miss last year and then started as the DC at Notre Dame in coach mode. Gotta say that I enjoyed the coach mode version a little more. Just got my 1-year Rutgers HC dynasty set up (I always do a 1-year "test" before starting my real dynasty) and trying to decide whether I play or coach. Maybe I'll coach and use it to test some sliders along the way...

Open to any suggestions that people might have.

Like the other poster said, 13 doesn't appear to have the tendency bug, which in my opinion crippled Coach Mode in Dynasty last year. Plus, the recruiting in '13 is significantly improved, in my view.

Hey all,
I'm a long time coach moder all the way back to NCAA 04. Only way I've ever played. Love the recruiting and game planning aspect of getting the right type of guys for the system I want to run and then calling the best plays to give them and the team the best chance for success.

Anyhow, some of you may recognize me as rkerns or Coach Kernzy over at TGT where I have a coach mode online dynasty for the 360 that I ran all last year for a good 10 seasons. So now that 13 is out I'm looking to infuse some new blood and enthusiasm into it.

Right now I'm use the sliders from ILiveforThis and Authentic that are posted here in the sliders sections and they are giving me great results right now in a test dynasty I've been running.

I figure I'll wait for the OS Community rosters and then get things ironed out and get started.

I've also got some tips and tricks over at TGT that mostly pertain to 12 but will also carry over to 13 so check that out if you wish.

Glad to see other coach moders here. I have been playing coach mode since NCAA first came out in the 1998 disk, other than the years when there was not autopassing. I have all my season saved on my cpu dating back to 1997, close to 70 seasons in all.

What sliders are any of you playing on currently. I am using Hartstoppers currently but need to tweak them a little, but for the most part I am getting really good seasons. I always choose a three star or less ranked 50 or greater. Some season I started with one star and moved up from there. I really wish they would bring the tournament back like the had on the 2001 disk where you had a 24 team play off and momentum meter.

Just looking for more input on the sliders. I will post what I am using later.

Been doing coach mode for just a couple years now. Kinda seems like I am the rookie compared to some of you all. Hahaha. Really interested to see everyones strategies and sliders. I am still looking for good sliders for this year.

Appreciate that sir. I'll probably write some more pertaining to 13 when I get some more time with it to see what works this year and what doesn't. So far I'm finding a lot of things to work better than last year. Draws, all types of screens, even bubble screens seem to work much better. So far I'm really liking 13 coach mode with ILiveforThis & Authentic's Heisman sliders.
