I've came up with this philosophy, "Zero to Hero", on how to rate a player's attributes for now and throughout the season. I want to come up with a basic system where it is very simple to sit down and rate a player without having to resort to evaluating thousands of results from combines or camp drills, which can be wildly inaccurate.
We have to go by how we perceive them on tape and from our experience of watching them on TV and their proven stats against their competition. That is the best way to rate a player's attribute. Consider the following...
When you want to make a recommendation, use this rank to give the term to give the appropriate rating for each attribute. It will be very useful to balance out the midmajor teams where they wouldn't be way too effective against top power conference teams. We have to make it further apart in skill level for it to happen. 84 is the breaking point where the top midmajor players should be at because their competition is not as good as power conference's competition. That will give the leeway for the top teams to pull away from the midmajors or weak teams.
Rerated Community Roster Database (RCRD): https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/...EExRExobkZJWWc
WARNING: Do not change any numbers in BASE RATING TABLE because that is where all of the data are being pulled for Player Creation section when you type in a position. You may download the spreadsheet for your own personal use if you want to edit players offline and copy & paste the data to DATABASE sheet for each player since Google Docs is all online that everyone can edit simultaneously.
The spreadsheet is now released to the public. Use the DATABASE sheet to insert new players and their adjusted ratings. You can use RATING sheet to come up with the normalized rating for any player for any position. Just put the position in the grey box and it will automatically retrieve the base rating to start with the process of rerating to a normalized level.
This project will be for OS Community Rosters. v2.3 should be out this weekend then I will download the new update and put in the new normalized ratings for top players and many other players that will need the adjustments. We all can pass around the file to help each other out to update as we go with the spreadsheet above.
Make sure to highlight anything that we have already updated to the OS Community Roster!
