Question Signing Free Agents Cheating?

Signing Free Agents Cheating?

Do you mates consider signing Free Agents cheating?

I do well I am the Pats so I feel if I sign all the top FAs

that feels dirty cause the CPU doesnt sign many FAs

which is good but they should have a bidding system you

shouldn't just click a and auto sign a player it is not that easy to do that in

NFL

I only sign a free agent when one of 2 things happens.

I don't want to renew a contract of an expensive backup, like a 3rd string qb who I never play that wants 3 million a year.

I get an injured player during the season and need a backup. My 3rd string cb was injured last game of pre-season for 24 weeks. So I needed a replacement.

I wouldn't care about free agents much if the game let us have a practice squad with a handful of players available to keep on the roster.

CPU signs free agents too if they need them.

I would think that if you have the salary cap turned on, it wouldn't be as easy to just go out and sign all the FAs that you want.

Why would you play with the cap OFF? That's boring! Most teams have a few million under cap to start. The Lions have 20!

I do agree on the bidding system. It was genius! I only sign FA to back up. There are some low OVR people who are starting caliber I sign them.

Re: Signing Free Agents Cheating?

I usually sign a couple FA that replace the worst guys on my roster. Jeff Otah is a free agent with 93 run blocking, so I usually sign him and replace my worst OL. I then sign Houshmenzadeh to replace my slot receiver who usually has poor catch ratings compared to everyone else on the roster. Both sign for under 1 mil. It just depends on what the team needs are and the availability of cheap FA's to replace the,

IMO most fa's at the start of your career are rated way to high. No way a bunch of 80+ overall dt would be available at start of preseason in real life.

I have a CCM with the Colts. They start with 30+ mil in cap. After season 3, I had over 60 million in cap, and that just happens to be the offseason where all of the young studs become available. (Julio Jones, AJ Green, etc). I had all that cap, with guys like Luck, Bethea, Davis, Aaron Hernandez, Freeney, Mathis, etc still under contract. I essentially had enough cap to sign an All-Pro at every single position on my team where I didnt already have one, and still have plenty left over.
