Forza Horizon retail impressions thread...

Some very quick impressions spoiler free.

I like the start, it makes you feel like you are at the bottom of the racing pile and can only go up.

The game world is stunning for an open world car game. I am telling you, none of us have driven in an open world game this convincing. To the white glare of oncoming headlights at night, to the scenery of the Rockies to the impressive draw distance that that doesnt drop
a frame. Especially at night, this game makes you want to look at it.

The car culture party vibe is done well. This is no Sunday enthusiasts setting, it is a dedicated car lovers world with all the bells and whistles for something as unique as it sounds. Sets a great ambiance. TDU2 attempted the car culture motif but Forza Horizon is much, much better. They are world apart.

Handling is good, cars are heavy and nice to drive but I dont know if much has changed from the demo. Noticeable difference between little front wheel buzz boxes and muscle cars.

Just managed to check out the paint/design customization features. From what I can tell out is the same as previous Forzas.

Car customization and things that are normally set aside for menus are cleverly integrated into the game world. Nice touch.

Re: Forza Horizon retail impressions thread...

I created an OS car club, please send requests to join!!!

Hope everyone is enjoying the game, I find it absolutely incredible. Best racing game I've ever played, combined with the worst DLC plan in gaming history though LOL

Re: Forza Horizon retail impressions thread...

I want the Rally expansion and Im skipping the rest of the DLC. I bought the Season Pass for Forza 4, thought the car packs were ok but didnt buy a single pack after the pass ended.

I did pick up the Porsche Expansion...I am weak.

Re: Forza Horizon retail impressions thread...

I can tell you it's even weaker this time.

So you buy the car packs (each one is $5). Then either have to spend credits or tokens to get the cars. Each token is $1. The Lambo in the Oct pack is 6 tokens or 2.7 million credits. It's ridiculous to me that I pay real world money to have a game in an auto shop. Since there's no real free race this time like in Forza 4, the cars are useless except for online (I'm assuming they can be used, you only have 10 cars plus your garage online).

Oct pack plus tokens to "own" each car runs you $21! That is ridiculous on so many levels.

That's why I got the regular version and will get the Rally Pack. Only way I'd buy a DLC pack is if it's a car manufacturer who's not in retail like Porsche.

This game is tranquil. I like how you earn credits just by cruisin. The upgrade discount system is cool.
