Re: Official WWE 13 Impressions
Starting up my Universe already, but i did do my first match. It was Big Show vs. Mark Henry, it ended with Big Show (me) doing an OMG match ending ring breaking superplex. Gameplay is great so far and am just loving it so far, AE mode is starting soonCome hang with me on YouTube! I stream/make videos on a variety of games from sports, to action, to adventure!

Re: Official WWE 13 Impressions
I am loving Attitude Era Mode so far. I feel like I'm playing an interactive WWE DVD. Not very deep into it yet though, obviously.
The gameplay balance feels different from WWE 12, and better. The wrestlers in general feel a tad heavier, and all the moves seem more meaningful. It did take two Sweet Chin Musics to finish off Mankind; I feel like there may be more of an emphasis to store finishers to perform the OMG moments, which I haven't tried to do yet.
One thing that I did notice that I have no idea what it means - it appears there is a new blue meter that appears when you manually release a breaking point submission, and that meter decreases each time. Anyone know what this is?Comment

Re: Official WWE 13 Impressions
Played the Attitude Era only so far. Great single player mode. Still need to find some good difficulty sliders because on Legend and Hard, while the CPU is challenging it kinda feels cheap. It's all reversals and not a lot of aggressively trying to beat me down.
On the other hand, the CPU on the higher difficulties is kinda relentless when they get you down from the reversals, which is nice but frustrating. You really have to time your own reversals and turn the match around, sort of wrestle a smarter match than in WWE '11 (the last one I played). So that's cool.
Overall, once I get the difficulty sorta to be a little more to my liking, I'm gonna get into the Attitude Era and I'm not leaving until I run out of events! Then I'll be running my own in Universe Mode hopefully!Favorite Sports Teams

Re: Official WWE 13 Impressions
Oh, and the breaking point submission system at first blush is MUCH better, despite not much having changed mechanically. The submission moves themselves are much more drawn out, so they actually feel worthwhile to use and go into the button mashing war.Comment

Re: Official WWE 13 Impressions
I've enjoyed the attitude era mode so far. Going for the bonus historical goals make the matches more interesting IMO (the HBK/Bulldog match took a bit of work in that regard, for example, but made it a fun match that ended up having more back and forth). Also, I don't know if this is true across the board, but HBK's comeback seemed easier to pull off. I recall having some trouble getting the positioning right for comebacks last year, but I've used it a few times very smoothly thus far. Reverse windows also seem more forgiving.
I played around a bit with the match length option. "Normal" feels like it runs a bit longer than a typical default match last year did and "epic" felt similar to when I reduced damage ratings last year, so that might be a time-saver on roster edits. I didn't try "quick."
The Audio is a let down. Entrance music volume is low, the crowd is better but still has weird dead spells and timing issues for the swells, and the commentary is still awful. Attitude mode commentary is good for the specific stuff, but even that has moments were it sounds really canned and spliced in poorly.
Also had a funny weapon glitch where Mankind dropped me on a chair that was lying on the ground and the chair zipped off at light speed into the air, never to return.
I also like how you can edit hit points of the different body zones (head, arms, trunk, legs). It has to total 100% and you can't seem to go lower than 15% for any area, unfortunately (I tried to zero out Nash's knees but it wouldn't let me).Comment

Re: Official WWE 13 Impressions
I think the gameplay is great. The AI is competitive. I have legit lost a couple matches. Needs some slider adjustments with reversals though.
My biggest issue is that the audio is a complete failure. Takes away a lot from the game. I have to skyrocket the volume on my tv just to hear the entrance musics. Some seem to be lower volume than others. I literally couldn't hear HBK's on my normal volume setting.
I'm hoping this can be patched, but THQ doesn't exactly have the best record when it comes to post release support.Comment

Re: Official WWE 13 Impressions
Not really..just things like SFX volume, voice volume music volume (I think this is menu music) and one other...problem is they are all maxed out already.
Ive only played one match with Ziggler and when I tried to Irish Whip it turned into a Hammer Throw every time even if I only tapped it, anyone else have this problem?
Other than that one issue I had a great match on the normal setting. I wish there was a slider to have the AI's momentum bar rise quicker to make up for their lack of aggressiveness though.
EDIT: OK WOW maybe it was only because in my first match I was playing against Epico, but I just played as Hunico against Undertaker and he beat my *** into the ground and never let up. Game is great so far!!!!Last edited by UMhester04; 10-30-2012, 12:15 PM.Comment
