Fab Five

With Michigan in the 2013 Final Four and 20 years since the last Fab Five appearance, I thought about posing this question. Since 2K8 came out, every legacy I do I try and recruit the next "Fab Five".

Have any of you been successful in recruiting a class like that? If so what was your lineup like? What was your player ratings and stats?

I'm still trying to recruit that elusive class...

Re: Fab Five

Ironically I signed my fab 5 at Michigan state after winning a couple of national titles. I signed the #1 overall who was a 6'10 290 lb, the #3 overall sf who was 6'8 and really athletic and good 3pt. #5 overall was a pg from Michigan who was perfect for this team bc he was a great pass first pg but he could still knock down the open jump shots. We got the #12 overall player who was a sg who grew into 6'6 240(a little oversized lol) and another pf in was rated somewhere in the 70's. I had going pro early turned off so we one it all their junior and senior seasons. Those last couple of years we just dominated the country.

Re: Fab Five

Closest I have gotten was after the 2018 year of my KSU legacy. This post breaks down where I was able to sign 5 players. However, it doesn't count as a true Fab 5 because I couldn't turn them into a starting five. My previous year I had loaded up my front court, leaving me to plug holes down the rest of the rotation. Getting the extra PF and SF was just gravy (and I ended up redshirtting both of them anyway because there were not enough minutes to go around).

How is the team as a whole doing? A work in progress. I'll know in a few seasons what I'm working with. They're high potential players who will develop, not work beaters straight out of the gate.

Re: Fab Five

At Cleveland State I recruited 5 4* players. They all started for four years, and I won it all their Senior year since my unity was off the charts.

Nice! By their senior year were they rated in their mid to low 90s?

Some of them were. One was low 90s, PF, a lottery pick. One was 90 even, I think the PG, and he was considered first round, and the rest were upper 80s.

Re: Fab Five

As posted in the "Interesting things that happened in your Legacy" thread, this is my best recruiting class to date from this game. I wouldn't call it a Fab 5, rather a Fab 4 as only 4 players made it to my starting lineup but the overall rankings say it all. Kentucky-esque recruiting class right here. Petrauskas, Leslie and Knight were one-and-done players after their first season.
