re-rating injury attribute

I have been thinking of re-rating the injury rating for my own team to possibly get a realistic #of injuries. My initial thought was half the stat for everyone on my team.

Has anybody done this or tested it?

Just curious if its viable, or is it still "broke" with everybody at say 0?

That's a great idea. You should experiment a season with it and try it out. Seems like all sorts of guys get injured when the games are simmed but rarely (if ever) when you're playing.

Re: re-rating injury attribute

Chedapalooza has been using these values he posted in Oraeon's Statistic Slider thread. You need different values for different positions because they all are affected differently.

Inj
Fb minus 20

wr- 50,60,70 Range

Te- (minus 20)

O line- 50 range (50-59)

D line (minus 40 )

Lb- (minus 30)

Safety-50-60 (60 highest 50 lowest)

Cb- 50-59 only example any player with 90+injury set to 59. Any player with 89 or 88 set to 58. Any player with 87, set to 57, 86 to 56, etc.

Re: re-rating injury attribute

I don't know if they changed it but I know but when someone else researched it. It turned out that a 99 injury meant that they had a 98% chance of hurting someone with a 1 inj.

(100 - PLAYERAINJ) - (100 - PLAYERBINJ) = Chance of getting hurt

But this goes all the way back to MM days.

Just to give you an idea of what has been learned in the past.

So if you lowered everyone injury by 10 think about it this way (if its still correct)

Original:
(100-80) - (100-90) = 10%
Rerate:
(100-70) - (100-60) = 10%

No change, A better idea would be to stretch the current ratings see who has the highest and lowest and do it like this...

Orginal:
(100-40) - (100-99) = 61%
Rerate by Stretch:
(100-1) - (100-99) = 98%

EDIT: I only include the chances for the lower rated guy to get hurt. I'm not sure about the higher rated guy.

If it was this way it would be better as I only plan on changing for my own players ,meaning the difference will be there. changing all playeras would make sim injuries too drastic

Re: re-rating injury attribute

So I have played 8 games so far with my players injury rating halved with mixed results.

My HB who had 79 INJ rerated to 40, has been hurt every game, had 3 carries in gm1, 5 in game 2, 7 in game 3, 18 in game 4 but was hurt for 4 weeks in the 4th Q. but my back-up RB who was 87 rerated to 44 has rarely been hurt, maybe 3 or 4 times and always will return soon.

my QB 86-43 INJ, has missed 3 quarters total, my backup 95-48 INJ, hasn't been hurt at all ( hasn't played much)

my star WR who was getting a lot of touches (38 catches in first 4 games), got hurt in week 5 for 3 weeks. his INJ was 87-44. I have had the rest of my reciever miss a few quarters here and there.

No OL/TE injuries

I had my RDE(87/44) out for the game once, no other DL injuries

I had a LB(86/43) miss 3 weeks, and one(82/41) out for game from 1st Q.

I had my FS(91/46) hurt once for 1Q, no other DB injured.

I'm going to finish out this season without changing them, to see if anything changes my opinion

I think a position based rerate might be the only way to go.

preliminary thinking

QB x .70
HB x .70
FB x .60
WR x .60
TE x .50
OL x .40
DL x .45
LB x .45
DB x .45

Ball carriers getting injured to much and Defense not quite enough, I don't know if its fixable but I am gonna try, and am happy that I am getting injuries at least.
