He may be trolling but I asked LD2k about diamond players during one of his streams and he said Diamond Kobe is the only Diamond player you can't get from completing collections. He wouldn't give any hints though on what you have to complete to get the diamond players.

I'm no troll here is the proof. As for the collection it was one of the jerseys.
