I've seen some online videos say the way I know a hitstick worked is if I see a red circle undernearth the tackler. Well, I'm sometimes still seeing what looks like a hitstick tackle, yet no red circle. I just want to confirm if I'm hit sticking correctly or not.
If you see a hitstick animation without the red circle, is it still a hitstick?

Yeah, I'm not 100% sure on this, but I would think the red circle indicates a perfectly executed hit stick, but other times, u may still break a tackle, but it wasn't 'perfectly' timed. That's my guess. I think this was in nfl2k4 or 5 back in the day. I'm not a fan, myself, I hate seeing any type of icon under my player, but that's my best guess as to what it's doing.
