Issue with players getting injured but back in next play?

Kind of a generic question here. I recall this happening in M13 as well. I get 3-5 players a game to get injured on the field, camera zooms in to to show him getting helped up by trainers, holding his shoulder ect... and then the next play he is in the game without any further updates on what happened.

What would cause this? It's like the game loses memory of an injury occurring from play-to-play at times.

Toughness rating maybe? A terrible misunderstanding by the developers of how injuries work in the NFL?

For some reason if you don't have 3 players for that position it can trigger this glitch. I see it often when a team only has 2 Qb's on the roster. The injury will typically show up after the game on the injury report but the injured player will finish the game.

Hmmm. I think this could be the answer. This glitch always happens to me with the QB only. For example, in one CFM with the Broncos, i only have two QB's on the roster. My starter QB has suffered that same glitch like 5 times and he never misses a play. While in the other CFM I have with the Rams, I have three QB's on the roster and when my starter get hurts he DOES get out the following play and the second string QB then takes the starter role. If that's indeed the answer, then that's another poor showing by EA about the gameplay.

I always wondered what would happen if you were on your last player at the position and they were to get injured.

Wow, intriguing thought. My recent game today RGIII gets hurt and is back next play (only have him and Pat White as QBs on roster) and last yr RGIII got hurt for 4 weeks and I had Cousins on the roster as well... So that does make some sense.. not I just have to figure out who to waive in order to sign a 3rd QB to make this more realistic.

So I guess the goal is to try to have minimum 3 players at each position listed (excluding P/K) ?

Re: Issue with players getting injured but back in next play?

It is a well established fact that injuries to your QB will not take effect if you only have 2 on your roster or if you have 3, but only 2 are actually in the depth chart...

Some leagues now require 3 QBs, how they enforce it I have no idea. It is a risk IRL and should be in Madden to keep only 2 QBs. Meaning if 1 of your 2 goes down in a game you only have on left and if that injury is significant you should be trolling the FA pool for a backup to your one remaining QB. This likely means you get a very crappy QB off FA and likely have to cut a player or place a player on IR to make roster room for the new FA QB you have to sign.

That would be far too realistic for Madden so they just ensure that no QB injuries ever stick when only two active QBs are in play...
