Auto defensive positioning does not work correctly. It switches positioning and then keeps it for the rest of the batters unless you manually catch it. Awful bug.

Re: Auto Defensive Positioning Bug
Like i mentioned in my other posts, i am no expert or have a great understanding of how or when fields are shifted/set but i have noticed when it doesn't seem right, if a field should be set for a Dp with no one on base then so be it i have no idea if that is a legit tactic teams use.
I just put it out there so the more knowledgeable of you's could keep a lookout for it. If it's working fine then great.
yes, this isn't a 100% of the time bug.Last edited by dazzelle; 05-22-2014, 05:55 AM.Comment

Re: Auto Defensive Positioning Bug
As a Padres player I play against the Dodgers a lot and we always shift for AGon and it has worked every time for him which is like 36-37 times in a row. Also has worked about 30 other times combined in a row for someone on the Marlins and Nationals.Comment

Re: Auto Defensive Positioning Bug
The only thing I don't like about the auto shift, is the guys it does it against seem to always go the opposite way. I lost count of the times Prince Fielder hit the ball to left in my recent series' with Texas, even when I bust him inside all game.
I don't like messing with it, because whenever I make adjustments, it seems to cause a bug where my guys will sit in that defense the rest of the game. Even with runners on, so my first baseman never again holds a runner.

Re: Auto Defensive Positioning Bug
It will shift the outfield to shallow when the pitcher comes up and then the rest of the game my outfield will be shallow if I don't check it. That's just one example. Another is it will keep double play set up on when the situation doesn't call for it.Last edited by fatheifer; 05-22-2014, 11:58 AM.Comment

Re: Auto Defensive Positioning Bug
Made a bug report about this right after release (PS3 version), haven't really seen it pop up since I got the PS4 version. In my case I was playing the Angels and the CPU shifted for Ibanez and did not shift back despite the next couple of batters being right handed. I think it had something to do with the default option being set to "always" instead of "one pitch" so the shifts were unintentionally sticking.Bakin' soda, I got bakin' sodaComment
