Embarrassingly Simple Question - How Do You Change Depth Chart In Game?

I am playing exhibition games right now on PS4 and can't sub Manziel in for Hoyer. Every time I go to the pause screen (either during a play or after a time out), the depth chart is locked and reads "The depth chart cannot be edited during a play."

I have also noticed that "Call Timeout" is always locked and unavailable from the pause screen (at least when I was playing Madden Moments).

I have played Madden for years and have never had this problem. Did they change something?

I am even taking delay of game penalties and am trying to sub while the penalty is being called. Still locked....

That's odd. Make sure you're at the play call screen when you pause it. If you do it right after a play before the play call screen pops up I noticed it will lock.

I have tried at all three levels of the playcalling screen (the top one that lists all of the playcalling types, the formation level, and the actual plays). The substitutions are locked for me no matter what.

Is there maybe some reason why this wouldn't be available in a standard exhibition game? The medical center and player stats are always available and are never locked.
