Question Overall decreasing??

I played played through a season of the Vancouver Canucks on NHL 15 for the PlayStation 4 and I noticed something strange. My goalie Eddie Lack had a great season finished with 9 shutouts and 2 in the playoffs. I played every game and I managed to win the Stanley Cup but what's strange is even though he had a great season his overall dropped from 84 overall to 83 overall why is this? A lot of my players had increased overalls as well for example Chris Higgins who was rated 86 overall went to 88 overall. I just want to know why Eddie Lack went from 84 to 83.

Re: Overall decreasing??

Cause EA don't know how to program a game properly. In my opinion, they have never gotten the progression thing right. It either happens too fast or too slow or not at all. Sometimes ( such as your case) it goes backwards when it should go several steps forwards.
Yeah...they don't know what they are doing.

Re: Overall decreasing??

So is it possible his overall could go back up if he has a another good season or should I just give up on Eddie Lack? Cause I feel the game cheated me right here by decreasing his overall from 84 to 83.

Re: Overall decreasing??

well what does happen is that his ratings may have been inflated due to the player progress. If it is mainly all statistical progress, then his overall will drop to what is really is (minus the statistical boost his rating may have gotten)...it is a stupid thing that EA has done. In NHL 14, most players tended to wallow in mediocrity until the hit their prime (around 26-28)....so he may linger at 83 until he hits his prime.
It all depends oh how well rated he is in relation to player progression.
