Can't watch at work but did he say anything about not turning down QB inaccuracies or pass break ups to appease the online crowd? -

The only thing that I took away from it was that it is to much work for them to fix the tethering issues ( and probably other issues the ancient " architecture " cause ). Cant imagine how my customers would react if I told them it was to much work for my company to fix flaws in my product and for them to pretty much deal with it.
The big difference for my market is that I have competitors to worry about.Comment

Haven't listened to it yet but I'm sure he meant it would take too long to fix and get the product out AND wouldn't have the time to make sure no other issues cropped up after the fixes... etc...The only thing that I took away from it was that it is to much work for them to fix the tethering issues ( and probably other issues the ancient " architecture " cause ). Many issues are legacy and probably require a whole new engine etc..
But I'm sure there's a group that will use it as fodder..Joshua:

Wow, of all of the things Rex said, that's what you focused on? Do you have any idea how long it would take to re-architect that part of the game? I mean, I don't know how big the madden development team is or their time restraints. But I think your expectations might be a little too high. If the code is legacy code and needs to be rebuilt, that can take a significant amount of time and effort. Something that can take a couple years to redo and get right, I think the last thing anyone wants is something just thrown in there. The only thing that I took away from it was that it is to much work for them to fix the tethering issues ( and probably other issues the ancient " architecture " cause ). That's why you have a team of engineers working on new mechanics and technologies in the background over a number of years.Wow, of all of the things Rex said, that's what you focused on? If EA/Tiburon was smart they should be researching technology for the next gen of Madden football, start working on it now so it's ready when the next gen of gaming is here then we won't have to wait five years for a true next gen Madden title.Last edited by SportsGamer94; 08-30-2015, 01:57 PM.Comment

Re: Great Rex Dickson Interview
He never said it was too much work to get to. He just mentioned that it is a major system overhaul; he's basically telling the audience it's not on the immediate agenda. The fact that he was so emphatic with his response about wanting to get to it gives me alot of hope that it will be something of priority soon. The only thing that I took away from it was that it is to much work for them to fix the tethering issues ( and probably other issues the ancient " architecture " cause ). I think it's safe to assume that pass blocking and line-play in general has the same issue, which is a core engine issue. I really hope they can over come these problems in the next couple years. The only thing that I took away from it was that it is to much work for them to fix the tethering issues ( and probably other issues the ancient " architecture " cause ). Re: Great Rex Dickson Interview
Last gen really hurt us, an entire decade without accomplishing anything, now Rex and his team have to waste time fixing, removing, and replacing core game-play mechanics instead of working on things that would really make this game great.Comment
