Ball Spot detection First downs and touchdowns

Am I crazy or is there something wrong with it I've had touchdowns that show up during the weekly goals and drive goals and what not, but the actual game thinks I'm down at the one. Same with firsts, I've never seen so many "X and Inches" in my life but when I look at the replay I'm obviously past the marker. Just frustrating.

I had a clear first down in a CFM game last night.. Challenged it, won the challenge, yet it stayed 4th and inches

That's another thing 99% of the time, I can't challenge because it's locked and it's no where near inside 2 minutes. I haven't lost a game or ruin an important drive.....yet.

It really seems like when this game first came out you could not challenge it because it was locked, then after a patch you could challenge it but it would do exactly like you said. Maybe I'm imagining it.. Hate completely destroys the purpose of the challenge in the first place.

If anyone has ever won a spot challenge on any version of Madden I want to meet that person because he is a unicorn. It is just like heads always wins the OT coin toss.

After all these years I hope they fix the challenge system for next year.

Spot of the ball was a huge problem last year. They seemed to have fixed it for the most part this year but there are still times when it "looks" wrong. It is miles better than 15 but I agree they still could tweak this a bit more.

In real life, the NFL almost always seems to favor the offense in spots relative to the first down marker. In this game, it is just the opposite. Multiple times each game either myself or the CPU obviously gets a first down, but it is spotted as 4th and 1 or 4th and inches. Weird.

My favorite was in Madden 10, I had a carry get stopped near the goal line. When they ran the "chain gang" animation, my ball was spotted halfway in the endzone.
Bills, Sabres, Illini, Cubs, basically any team that abuses its fanbase and I'm there.

This has been terrible in all maddens. I've had the exact same results and occurrences as every other poster in here. I had a good one the other night.
Antonio Brown caught the ball at the one yard line, while in the air. He came straight down on top of the defender, rolled on top of him and extended the ball across the goal line. It was ruled first and goal at the one, I immediately challenged it, because I could tell even at full game speed he clearly got the touch down. Of course I didn't get it. I watched the replay from all angles, over and over. He did make it, but the glitched challenge system wouldn't allow it. This needs overhauled big time.

Or just ditch the challenge system since the computer can be programmed to be correct 100% of the time. And we wouldn't be forced to sit through the incredibly long replay junk you can't button through.
