Re: World Baseball Classic vs MiLB

I seriously doubt that SCEA is going to start bargaining with minor league players individually.....so your first choice is basically a no go.

WBC....when is that license up?

What other leagues are really intriguing besides the Japanese leagues?....that license is already locked up as well.

If all were in play in some way....MiLB....but that's the LONGEST shot of all long shots!

I agree with Knight in that MiLB would be the one that I would want but that is obviously the longest shot of all.

Re: World Baseball Classic vs MiLB

Probably an MiLB Licence, but the only real advantage I can see is you'd have it faster than OSFM, which faster doesn't really mean better. I dare say the guys working on OSFM, are more likely to do a better job. I seem to recall Ramone saying some of the team at SDS don't even follow baseball, at least not as close as the guys working on OSFM. With a little time, the OSFM guys can give the minors the love they deserve, freeing SDS to concentrate on MLB players. As far as WBC they don't play that every year do they? I would probably dabble in it, but only briefly. If Sony were to go after any kind of licence, I'd choose about 70 old stadiums,
to be bought as a DLC. And if I (Sony) didn;t want to pay for that, I'd just have 70 old stadiums, that, seating wise, fences, walls, pressboxes, anything structure wise, didn't actually look like the old stadium, but just had the same dimensions to the outfield. And for a name, it wouldn;t say "Baker Bowl", but rather "Philadelphia NL Circa Late 19th Century-WWII.
For Ebbets Field "Brooklyn Circa Early 20th Century-Mid 20th Century.
Tiger Stadium "Detroit 20th Century".

More than the WBC itself i'd love to see classic teams and national teams. The WBC would require a specific mode (international rules & more) but many national teams are esentially there (even fake ones could bring some fresh to the game)

Re: World Baseball Classic vs MiLB

I don't ever see them bargaining, as Knight mentioned, with each individual minor leaguer so I went with the World Baseball Classic.

Not really sure what other leagues could be locked up that aren't already.

#1 - Other leagues (meaning, all minor leagues)
#2 - WBC

Licensed minor leaguers would be nice, but never going to happen. So, we'll just keep whipping those OSFM guys.

Re: World Baseball Classic vs MiLB

I would love for them to get MilB players but as Knight and Co already said......

But since the OSFM guys do an outstanding job every year I would love to see MiLB parks and more classic stadiums.
