He clearly doesn't have his signature jumpshot and even though someone mocapped his layup package pretty good for 16, you can tell as a fan that it's not his. Only asking because of the EA affiliation.
Can Kyrie do Mo-cap for 2k?

Fair - I wonder if it applies to Russ aswell. As an OKC fan, I can say his signature stuff is CRAP. -
Re: Can Kyrie do Mo-cap for 2k?
Probably not due to no-compete clauses & such.
Dunno if they put that in contracts when someone is the cover athlete for a game, but it would make sense (meaning, not doing extra stuff for the competition outside of what your particular union contracted for with that company)Comment

Lol.
If they do have those clauses they most likely run out tho. I mean, didn't Dame get a face scan last year after the 2K16 launch?
Scans are one thing tho, mo-capping sig moves is another. We might just be stuck with the anis we have.Comment

Yeah I just wish whoever "attempts" their signature shots was better at it haha.
Kyrie and Russ are ELITE PGs in the league. And I use OKC 80% of the time so it's sucks having a (now) leader of your team who's all ****ed up..... hahaComment

Re: Can Kyrie do Mo-cap for 2k?
I just want to be able to actually finish layups with Kyrie, especially in traffic. I almost always miss, I feel like Kyrie's ability to finish in the paint is sorely under represented in the game.Comment

Re: Can Kyrie do Mo-cap for 2k?
And if it is right at launch, the worst part is it can be patched right out of the game. All it takes is some abuse from an onliner and Kyrie is broken until 2K18.Comment

Not sure man, I didn't use them a whole lot because his J was so jacked haha.
Nah seriously, I remember thinking it was ok at times. But nothing stand out....Comment

Re: Can Kyrie do Mo-cap for 2k?
Yeah the layups definitely were lacking too a bit but not as bad as that horrendous jumpshot he had named after him lol. I saw him on the 2k17 advertisement cover with PG, Butler, Drummond etc...I just hope that he has time to mocap a little too. He plays park pretty consistently with his player so I know he sees that jumper is not his at allWatch the throne while I take a nap.Comment

This to me illustrates the fundamental flaw of reality vs the game. Elite players are living video games themselves, and their actual abilities and capabilities need to be properly represented. It should be like the actual NBA, if you are being abused send double teams or adjust your defensive schemes accordingly. I loved that thread we had on here during the season that listed things we saw during actual NBA games, that we would complain about in NBA2K. It made a strong point.Comment

When they patch things down, it just tells me the game wasn't quite completed so they had to weed something out in the name of "balance".
One year dev cycles I guess.
But eventually the balance will come as it should and then we'll get to drop 57 on the Spurs like a video game player can - in real life.Comment

Re: Can Kyrie do Mo-cap for 2k?
Westbrook's off-the-wrong-foot, scoop layup animation looks pretty good, but it might be the most easily blocked layup in the game. If this animation triggers, you'd better have a wide open lane to the hoop or it's getting swatted. Whereas in real life, he uses this move to try to shield a defender/slither through traffic and get the ball on the glass.Comment
