How do you slow down the pace of the game?

I'm currently playing 12 minute quarters on Superstar difficulty with Superstar sliders.

Everything plays out fine, stat wise, but there's just one problem that's bugging me. Since it's 12 minute quarter, I find the total score of all my games to be around the 110-130 range. The CPU jacks up at least 100 shots per game over 48 minutes. And this isn't happening to teams that play at a fast pace.

Just wanting any advice or tips on how I can slow the pace down and get more realistic scores? Is it a slider/tendency tweak or a coaching setting?

I've had some success by lowering the shot tendency sliders for the cpu. They are set to 50 in default. I lowered it to 40 and it's working for me with 12m quarters. Try it out. Set everything to 40 that's currently 50.

48-45 Cavs over Knicks nearing the half.

It would be 68-65 in NBA 2k17.

I had to lower every players 'pull up in transition' to 0 (I left the top 25 transition players alone.) It helps, but teams still don't have an identity. They all move and play like Golden State.

It should be in this game too, the Cavs went 20/54 and 4/21 from three in a half, yikes. They are shooting 37 percent. They should have 70 right now.

I would be disgusted if they took that many shots in 2k lol. Quit and re-assess my settings.

I lowered the 'Pull Up In Transition' tendency as well as the 'Touches' tendency drastically for each player across the team and I'm seeing generally slower games

Re: How do you slow down the pace of the game?

I've had success with a combination of turty's roster, the suggested HOF sliders from Beluba (even though I play on Superstar), turning off the shot meter and basically babysitting the whole team on defense (ensuring that the bigs get back after a made basket, switching to the help on PNR's instead of on ball, etc). The last one is incredibly annoying and something I don't really enjoy doing, but its the only way to somewhat mitigate the terrible teammate defense in the game that leads to the CPU getting a ton of quick open shots in the paint.

The CPU seems to respond to the user's play style no matter which team you're facing, so taking your time in half-court is a must to get lower scores. I actually got a few games in the 80's and 90's for both which I was never able to do before, but if I push the pace the CPU will do the same and the game will go into the 100's even on 11 minute quarters. Guess there's no easy way for this right now until the defense and play styles for every team get adjusted.
