Youth Player Won't Accept Contract - Too Long

So I lost my starting GK to a torn hamstring and I've got a GK in my youth academy that I am trying to sign but he keeps declining the contract offer because the terms are too long.

He apparently wants a 0 year deal and obviously a 1 year deal is the shortest you can offer.

Anybody ever run into anything like this? I even tried doubling his wages from the default $550/week but he's hung up on the length.

sounds like he has no intention of playing for your team.... but I have never seen this with any of my youth players... very strange

It's a bug that already existed in FIFA 16. There's nothing you can do about it, you just have to wait some time and try it after some weeks again.

Basically that's what happened.

A couple weeks later he said he wanted out, I offered him 50k a week and he still declined.

I've got a 92-94 potential Swedish CF named Axel Axelson in my youth academy who wants a 0 year contract. I want to sign him so badly but he won't accept any offer.

I'll be so bummed if I never get a chance to sign him.

I had this happen. And as above, he eventually 'wanted out' a few weeks later. I tried again, and again, the contract was not short enough... and he eventually outright left. Fortunately, he was a 64 ovr 17 year old with a high 70's - lower 80's potential... so I didn't miss him too much.
