So I Wondered If Anyone Tried Using The Editor on a Custom Playbook

List of plays in game (offense only so far) with a tab of default playbook plays:

https://drive.google.com/open?id=12r...ikaBhUlvmSOxXc

==========================

I didn't think I had seen that on here before, so I thought I'd try it to see what happened. To my suprise, it works! I let the editor create a base config and it has six tabs. I also opened the custom playbook file and created a base config with it as well. Now the bigger question is...what can we do with this?

Here's what I know so far...

CPBList File (only tab is PBLS)
FFNA - File Name (only shows custom playbook file names)
BGID - Playbook ID
BORD - Order?
BOFF - 0=Defense, 1=Offense
PBGI -
PBPI - (All values are zeros in my file)
BNAM - Playbook Name (as displayed in game)
POSN - Playbook type (offense only)
PBPR - (same as PBGI except for custom books, which are the same number as the playbook the custom was based on to start)
PBOS -
PBPT -
PBFV -

Custom Playbook Files
PGPL Tab - Playbook Plays
BOKL - Playbook Number (all are set to custom playbook number on this tab)
SETL - Formation?
PLYL - Play Number
PBST -
PLYT -
ord_ - Order in Playbook
Flag -

PGFM Tab - Playbook Formations
BOKL - Playbook Number (all are set to custom playbook number on this tab)
PBFM -
SRFM -

STID Tab
BOKL - Playbook Number (all are set to custom playbook number on this tab)
SETL -
PBFM -
PBST -

STSP Tab
BOKL - Playbook Number (all are either set to custom playbook number on this tab or zero)
SETL -

PBAU Tab
BOKL - Playbook Number (all are set to custom playbook number on this tab)
PBPL -
FTYP -
PBAU -
Flag -

PBAI Tab - Sim Plays?
BOKL - Playbook Number
PLYL - Play Number
AIGR -
prct - (wondering if this is the percent chance the AI will call the play)

I haven't tried changing anything yet on this, but it looks like it could be used to possibly customize playbooks more than can be acheived in game. It could also be used to tweak playbooks for simming that actually come closer to our own play calling.

Re: So I Wondered If Anyone Tried Using The Editor on a Custom Playbook

When I looked into this, I arrived to about the juncture you are at and was unsure what to do.

What I did try was creating a playbook with only 1 play, the Hail Mary but when I loaded that playbook in the Editor it appeared to contain the same about of data as regular custom playbook. I was somewhat disheartened by this outcome and never bothered to check if I had any missteps such as forgetting to save the 1-play PB, etc.

I too suspected that the 'prct' field in the PBAI tab was related to the probability of a particular play being selected by the AI. I may be misremembering but I feel like I thought the AIGR was related to game-situations.

I was trying to figure out if the Wildcat Formation plays were tied to some indicator variables (within the file) that prohibited users from calling an audible or resulted in the AI defense from engaging eight. Wildcat formations have a number of unbalanced OL sets and I wanted to interlace those into my offense with my QB taking the snap, with equal probability of run or pass, and without indicating to the AI to bring the house everytime.

Let us know what you uncover. Maybe I could try that analysis again.

Re: So I Wondered If Anyone Tried Using The Editor on a Custom Playbook

I'm reviving this post in an effort to catalog all of the plays in the game and ultimately provide a listing of the exact plays in each team's playbook. Once I figure out what plays tie to what play ID in the editor, I plan on saving an unchanged playbook based on each team's playbooks to build a list of what's in each.

As I'm cataloging the plays, I am capturing the formation, set, play type, personnel, and if it has pre-snap motion or not. Excluding play photos (unless someone wants to volunteer), what else would everyone want to see regarding each play?

a listing of the exact plays in each team's playbook.

IMO your efforts would be worth it just to have this in a convenient spreadsheet form.

I have almost all the plays captured in images, offense and defense. I think I just have one formation left to finish. Anyway, I am happy to share them with you, or anyone for that matter. Eventually I was planning on hosting them somewhere when I finished. The only thing is they are still grouped in "threes", meaning I cropped them in a row of three plays, like you see on the screen, and put into a folder for each formation. I never cut them individually. It's not hard, it just takes some added time. You can use the paint program, or even your sniping tool to cut and save each play.

If a couple of people wanted to help, they could finish the whole project in a day or two.

PM me and I will get it out to you.

I hope to have the offensive plays available online this week in a spreadsheet. There are a total of 5,170 offensive plays visible in the game, so matching pictures and plays could take a bit of time.

Yeah, that might take a while still. I just meant cutting the images to one play each, instead of three plays in an image.

Updated OP with Drive link for play data, including plays by playbook for team playbooks.
