Short and Long-term Predictions

I pulled a Machado in a pre-order pack and I've held onto him. I'm starting to consider selling though because I'm worried he may drop at some point. He has 6 HR and his slash line of .226/.336/.473 isn't bad, but I'm worried at some point his hitting attributes may drop a few points.

What are your thoughts on who might rise or drop in the short and long-term?

A few obvious risers for me:
Sano
Ervin Santana
Benintendi
Judge
Thames (maybe down the line if he keeps hitting)
Justin Turner

Cesar Hernandez has been playing at a fantastically high level since June of last year, and it's carried over into this year. He should end up gold soon enough.

Judge for sure he's quadrupled in the last few days. Picked up 5 or 6 of his cards in anticipation. Wish I would have bought more when he was around the 300 mark. He's selling at over 1000 as of right now.

Re: Short and Long-term Predictions

I think Judge is horribly overpriced at the 900-1,000 stubs he is at now. That is 10 times more expensive than any other level 76.

If he jumps to silver then he is still more expensive than almost every other live series silver. Charlie Blackmon is the only 84 player who goes for that price.

So at his current price I personally think Judge is overpriced unless you consider it a long term investment on him getting to Gold status this season.

Machado has been hitting quite well after a slow start as well, no reason to think hed drop.

Re: Short and Long-term Predictions

Daniel Murphy has to go up if he can continue, which he probably will. He's been arguably the best pure hitter in the MLB the past 2 years and his defense is better than what people give him credit for. I can see him going diamond in a week or two

Re: Short and Long-term Predictions

Ryan Zimmerman is another name to keep an eye on. Should be getting a big ratings boost in the near future since he's tearing it up.

Hector Rondon is another one that might be going gold as well.

I wouldn't be too worried about Machado. The Show is usually very slow to demote a player from diamond tier or high gold as Giancarlo Stanton remained untouched for the majority of last year despite the fact that he struggled mightily.

Another thing to consider: how much a player's rating really goes up is dependent on how low their hitting stats are and how much it will raise. For example, people felt that Cano should've gone diamond last year despite the fact that he wasn't hitting lefties well and wasn't going to increase his fielding or his speed so he was left at gold. Judge might go gold if he keeps this pace up only because he's a better fielder than the game has him listed at, but it is still a long shot, in my opinion.

Re: Short and Long-term Predictions

Sano certainly seems the next low-hanging fruit to go Gold. Jose Ramirez seems like another. Daniel Murphy going Diamond seems like a foregone conclusion, even with the iffy fielding. Khris Davis could perhaps give Oakland a Gold.
