Moments Cards Review Thread

Sapphire Blake Griffin

The word "demigod" gets thrown around a lot in the 2K community, but this card truly deserves that title. I've been contact dunking on everyone even with a non-upgraded bronze posterizer badge. His faceup moves are explosive enough to get past anyone you'll see at PF except LeBron, and against quicker matchups, you can just back them down with his 94 strength rating until you get in range for a contact dunk. The main difference between this Blake card and all the other Blake cards from previous 2Ks is that this one actually has a serviceable 82 three point rating. His defense and rebounding aren't the greatest, but he is an unstoppable force on offense.

Gold Nick Young

A deadly shooter who comes with an easy-to-time animation, the powerful microwave badge, and hot spots all around the arc. It's a shame though that his low dunk tendencies make him a weak finisher on drives and fastbreaks. For that reason, I can only recommend this card as a shooting specialist.

Emerald Victor Oladipo

Another card whose driving and finishing ability is held back by bad dunk tendencies. Even though he comes with the bronze posterizer badge and excellent dunking ratings, I could not get any good driving dunk animations to trigger with this card like I could with sapphire Blake Griffin. I recommend completing the 2017 Utah Jazz set instead and unlocking Ruby Darrell Griffith for a similarly rated shooting guard who is able to get good dunk animations due to his maxed out dunking tendencies.

Gold Spencer Dinwiddie

A 6'6" speedboosting, sharpshooting point guard who's been gifted with a nice selection of hot zones and the best running crossover/running behind the back animations in the game. His sizeup combos aren't very useful (aside from the standing hesitation and the double between the legs moves), so he really should be utilized as an on-the-move dribbler instead of a stand-still dribbler. And his 80 stamina rating means that he's best used as a bench PG to come in and give your starter a few minutes of rest in modes like Supermax.

Emerald Aaron Gordon

I'm totally amazed by this card and by the way, his performance in real life was incredible too!
If you are looking for somebody who can finish and shoot exceptionally well, you need to give him a try.
He has been everywhere for me on the floor. Grabbing boards, posterizing people, hitting midranges and deep ranges. His animations are all you're asking for.
I payed like 10k (on PS4) a while ago and he been running in my starting lineup as PF since (Note: with Ruby Willis on the bench).

If you are looking for budget but beast solutions he is your guy at the 4.

Emerald Gordon is my starting PF. Plays above the emerald rating and having him paired with Emerald Vucevic makes the front court an offensive powerhouse.

My favorite card in the game right now (and I have 12 ruby's so far) is EM. Porzingas. Can't imagine how great the Sapphire must be.

I also have Ruby Cousins and the card has been fantastic, truly a monster.

Em. Collison is a really good card, seems to do everything well.

Gold T.Harris is extremely solid and you can snag him for 500. Gold J.Brown has also been great.

Re: Moments Cards Review Thread

He's been mentioned elsewhere, but if you want a budget P&R ballhandler PG for PvCPU games, give Silver Moments Mike James a try. Cheap to buy, cheap to run.

The guy is just a dunking animal, despite being 6'1". Kind of a distinctive style, it seems to me. Doesn't necessarily take off from distance, but will seem to just rise up, off of two feet, nearer the rim. Throws down hard, man-dunks, in any case: 90 Driving Dunk, 95 Vertical, 95/95 Driving/Flashy Dunk Tendencies. Low Contact Dunk and Strength but doesn't really seem to matter.

Part of this year's BC inflation, he's got 86 BC, despite being just a Silver. 86/86/86 speed ratings. Also basically has all 80-ish shooting ratings.

Defensively, he can stay in front of guys, but will constantly do stupid stuff on D if CPU controlled. And his contest is not going to have much impact, being a horrific 38, coupled with his 6'1" height.

But he's great guy to have sitting around for PvCPU Challenges.

Re: Moments Cards Review Thread

This is a no brainer and one that needs no info but here goes.

I pulled the Ruby Harden two nights ago when I opened one moments pack on a whim. I played a couple games with him and obviously, he is the $hit. However, I am not a SG heavy player so i was able to sell him and my sapphire Lebron and get Ruby LeBron. Holy Crap. The last 4 games of Historic Dom just got easier...He is as good as expected.

That's all. Still enjoying domination. 4-5 more games to go then I think I may dabble in supermax.

Re: Moments Cards Review Thread

Emerald Nikola Vucevic & Brook Lopez

This is easily the best budget starter/backup center pairing in the game right now if defense and rebounding aren't your primary concerns at the center position. They are basically the same card on offense, just with Brook having a slightly better post game. You can cheaply add gold post spin/dropstep badges to each card if you want to enhance their post moves even more. And gold pick & popper is another cheap badge upgrade that will help to generate more green releases during pick and fades.

Gold Luc Mbah a Moute

For just 500 MT, you'll get a player who can lock up the other team's LeBron/Durant/Carmelo/Abdur-Rahim with a 90 rating in every defensive category. And he's a respectable three-point threat on offense, with an 86-rated three ball, plus hot spots in both corners. His base ratings will also get boosted pretty regularly, since he comes with the powerful microwave badge. For the price, this is a must-have card on every team, even if he only comes into the game with your second unit, or in situations where you need defensive stops.

Silver T.J. Leaf

Another value player you can pickup for 500 MT who has good height (6'10"), athleticism (75 speed & vertical), and offensive ability (85 three, 84 post fade, 83 post control, 85 post hook) for a power forward. As with emerald Vucevic/Lopez, you can cheaply add post spin/dropstep/pick & popper badges to this card to increase his offensive proficiency.

There's no doubt that this is the best silver point guard card in the game right now. Defense is his only weakness, as he can do it all on offense. It would be interesting to see what he could do with gold posterizer added, but that badge is worth so much MT it's hard to justify putting three of them on a silver card.
