FlaskDaddy's NCAA Football 14: Back 2 Basics
As time goes on and my Coaching Persona moves on from being a coordinator to coach, as well other created coaches that I have made but allow the CPU to control, the focus will shift to those "characters" while still working in an over-all FBS 'Universe' that I plan on being easy to check in on from viewers who may be more interested in specifics teams. Thanks for stopping by, I hope you enjoy!

CORE AUDIENCE CREDIT: David Frank INSIGHT (ABOUT MY MADNESS):
Spoiler
I decided that in this "Universe" that will also link (via Importing Draft Class) to my Madden 25 Connected Franchise, the following changes would be made--over time-- starting in the 2013 Season:
1. Due to "Disciplinary Reasons" resulting from various scandals, Penn State and The University of Miami would receive the "Death Sentence" sanctions and will not be continuing their respective programs. 2. Utilizing various sources, I identified the programs who lose the most money and have lowest attendance numbers, and decided to "Demote" those programs, they are as follows: Idaho, UAB, UNLV, UCF, Eastern Michigan, Buffalo, and Western Michigan. 3. I decided (because I had a dozen teams I wanted to import, but also due to the idea of schools re-utilizing funds spent on their programs) to also remove Air Force, Army, and Navy. 4. Again, utilizing information based on recent winning histories as well as solid attendance numbers (along with actual programs that moved up into FBS over the course of 2013-2017) I chose to "Promote" the following FCS Programs: Appalachian State, Chattanooga, Coastal Carolina, Georgia Southern, James Madison, Montana, Montana State, UNC Charlotte, and Youngstown State. 5. For purely personal reasons (mainly the fact that my target-audience, my best friend Dave, has attended/been professor at each) I chose to include three other programs: Division II Texas A&M Commerce; Division III Case Western; and as-yet non football program UNC Greensboro. 6. Feeling that one of the reasons that many schools face such difficulty with the cost of fielding programs, I decided to restructure--but in a realistic way--the conferences. (Conference Contraction, if you will) and that's what 'Back 2 Basics' is all about. a. No changes (outside of the removal of teams; the elimination due to some of those removals of Conference divisions/Championship Games; and the inclusion of the new teams as Independents) will take place until the off season period between the 2013 and 2014 seasons. b. Conferences will be taken back to their original structures, with consideration given to when each conference claims the establishment of it's lineage. (i.e. Big 10, 1896; SEC 1932; MAC 1946 etc.) c. Teams that have played in multiple conferences in their histories (i.e. South Carolina, ACC and SEC; Cincinnati MAC, AAC) will be placed in the original conference in which they belonged. d. Teams that originally played in now-defunct conferences will play in the first conference that still exists that they played. e. Imported teams/Independent teams will be moved into conferences that make sense geographically and with consideration of ability for program to compete. (This process is expected to take 2-4 seasons, depending on success of teams.) MY GAMEPLAY:
Spoiler
I will start out my career (Coach Joe Flask) as OC of James Madison (decided randomly among 1 Star and 2 Star Prestige Teams). I will not focus on a particular team as far as detailed records go until I become a Head Coach somewhere. Until that time, my reports will be on the FBS as a whole. As some other created coaches (David Frank, OC Kent State) whom the CPU controls I will report on those teams as well, but with slightly less detail, as those teams will not be under my control.
I will play all Coordinator games in "Coach Mode" calling only plays, allowing Auto-Throw once the snap has taken place. Win or Lose, all games will be saved and reported. RECRUITING:
Spoiler
Applies to Head Coached schools only, I will turn on all helpers and simulate recruiting as a coordinator. NCAA FBS NEWS 2013 FEBRUARY 1, 2013- BREAKING NEWS: NCAA TERMINATES 2 PROGRAMS DUE TO VIOLATIONS
Spoiler
Indianapolis, IN: Today the President of the NCAA released a statement terminating the NCAA's association with two recently troubled FBS football programs.
"We have re-examined the case of Penn State University's Football Program during the troubling and tragic Jerry Sandusky era, and have reached a new determination that we feel will work better than bowl and scholarship sanctions to send a clear and direct message that this type of atrocity can never be allowed to happen again. Effective immediately, all football and related programs at PSU are terminated. "Additionally, the we have determined that, due to repeated violations of bylaws covering a thirty-plus year time, the University of Miami FBS program has developed a systemic culture of cheating, paying players in unacceptable ways, and harboring individuals who promote and facilitate these violations; is also terminated effective immediately." FEBRUARY 5, 2013- BREAKING NEWS: 10 FBS PROGRAMS ELECT TO MOVE DOWN
Spoiler
Indianapolis, IN: Just days after two prestigious FBS programs were terminated by the NCAA, ten programs have informed the sanctioning office of their intent to leave college football's highest level.
"The following Universities, citing budgetary and competitive hardship, have informed the NCAA of their decision to transition their programs from the Bowl Subdivision to the Championship Subdivision: Buffalo, Eastern Michigan, Idaho, UAB, UCF, UNLV, and Western Michigan. "Additionally, the three United States Service Academies (Air Force, Army, and Navy), following a directive from their superiors at the Pentagon, have elected to cease FBS play as well. "The transition or cessation of these programs is immediate, and they will not play in the 2013-2014 FBS season. We are working diligently to find appropriate replacements for these teams as well as looking into what changes can and should be made to keep this from happening to programs in the future. We will have further announcements in the weeks to come." FEBRUARY 25, 2013- BREAKING NEWS: FBS TEAM PROMOTIONS ANNOUNCED
Spoiler
Indianapolis, IN: Today, a press release from the NCAA office of the President has announced the promotion of 12 programs to the FBS level for the 2013 Season. "The following programs have exhibited to the NCAA their respective institutions' determinations and plans to facilitate an immediate move up into the FBS: Appalachian State Mountaineers, Case Western Reserve Spartans, Chattanooga Mocs, Coastal Carolina Chanticleers, Georgia Southern Eagles, James Madison Dukes, Montana Grizzlies, Montana State Bobcats, Texas A&M-Commerce Lions, UNC-Charlotte 49ers, UNC-Greensboro Spartans, and Youngstown State University Penguins." While the Mountaineers, Mocs, Chanticleers, Eagles, Dukes, Grizzlies, Bobcats, 49ers, and Penguins have all had successful FCS program histories, it was the unexpected inclusion of Division II powerhouse Texas A&M-Commerce Lions, Division III Program Case Western Reserve Spartans, and up-start UNC-Greensboro Spartans that caught many by surprise. "The NCAA feels that all twelve of these teams, regardless of the histories each possesses, and what divisions they may come from, possess the best structure and plans in place to make a seamless and competitive transition into FBS Football. "For the time being, all twelve teams will be considered Independents. Given time, and proper for thought, these teams will eventually merge into conferences that will give them the ability to competitively grow their programs." At this time, the NCAA did not have any further comment as to the rumored plans of major conference realignment, as well as a possible shift toward a FBS playoff to replace the oft-criticized BCS model.
