How many games do u play in Franchise season?

I’m trying to figure out how I want to play my franchise this season. 162 games is astronomical. Even if you play half of those games that’s still a crap ton of games to play in and a ridiculous amount of time just to get through one season. Think of madden, I have what, 24 games Max if you make it to the Super Bowl? And with nine inning games the games in this game aren’t that much shorter than Madden games.

But if I simulate too many games in my season I feel like it’s not really my team or my season. I feel it’s actually the computers season, and I’m just playing some of the games. Even playing 81 games doesn’t feel near enough to make it truly feel like your team. Half of the stats are the cpu’s stats. I’m leaving at least half my season up to the computer and I do not like that feeling. What is everybody’s happy medium when it comes to total games played per season? Baseball video games, with baseball having ridiculously long seasons do not lend themselves well to multiple franchise seasons etc if you want to play and not simulate.

Every. Single. Game. Including spring training.

I'm OCD like that. I love having absolute control of every inning. Tedious but so much fun.

Unfortunately real life gets in the way, I don’t have that much time, not even close. Trying to figure out what to do. How the heck do you do that?

I love that also, but don’t have the time. Here in lies the problem lol.

I'm with you there. That is why I am still on MLB 16. Carried over my franchises beginning in 14. I came to the conclusion I may never catch up with current iterations. Luckily, there are several options to streamline your franchise. As little as 5 minutes and you're done with a game. Find something suitable that fits your schedule. Being a father to twins I don't have much time lol. Have fun my man.

Re: How many games do u play in Franchise season?

I like playing multiple seasons, and the only way for me to do that is by simming most of the games.

One thing I like to do is use all of my starters equally so it still feels somewhat like a regular season. I like to play a full game with a starter, then sim through the entire rotation until I reach the next starter. It basically plays out like this:
Verlander (play), sim, sim, sim, sim, sim
Kuechel (play), sim, sim, sim, sim, sim
McCullers (play).....

This way I play 27 full games per season, can finish a season in about three weeks, and can complete multiple seasons.

My alternative method goes like:
Play (1), sim, quick manage, sim, quick manage, sim
Play (2), sim, quick manage, sim, quick manage, sim
Play (3),...

I use quick counts, but play everything.
