Out of the box settings

I love this years game ... HOWEVER am I the only one who feels that since they dropped that first patch, changing of the pitch speeds the game just isn’t the same anymore. Anyone with me?

Thanks.

Re: Out of the box settings

I am SOOOOOOO with you! I had my timing down pretty good. Was hitting really good and was having tons of fun with my Phillies franchise m THEN patch after patch dropped and with it so did my hitting. Fastballs and changeups are super slow now and my timing was all out of wack. So for the first time ever I had to mess with the sliders, raising the pitch speeds for both and even upped the hit timing at one point. Ducks because out of the box the game was great. Now I'm just hoping a new patch can get things back to normal.

Re: Out of the box settings

Regardless of the patches, the visual speed doesn't equal the actual speed. A 90mph fastball or whatever doesn't look like a 90mph fastball, it looks slower than real life. To make the numbers look real, you have to set both pitch sliders all the way up (10) and play on as high of a difficulty as possible, as with each difficulty level the visual speed gets faster. Long story short, if you want it to look as real as possible, then put put both sliders on 10 and play on legend. Without changing the sliders, the visual pitch speed is faster after the patch than it was on first release.

Re: Out of the box settings

I don't mind it but I know if a bunch of players that have stopped playing the game already due to the patch. Too bad, I enjoyed it out if the box. Playing on vet in rtts I was able to get walks. Now I think I've had about 5 walks in 50 games even though I do everything the same as before but the game just throws everyrhing down the middle once there is 3 balls. If I moved up to hall of fame or legend I'm sure that they throw more balls but I shouldn't be punished for playing a lower level for walks

I've stopped playing rtts and play some dd but even that I've played a whole lot less. Too bad, I got adjusted to the slower pitch speed and was really enjoying it but since the patches, I don't enjoy the game as much. Still play but not my go to game anymore

Anybody feel like post patch the game plays like a 100 mph...feels like everything is hectic and rushed...just felt like out of the box the game had a nice pace of play...now it feels everything is keyed toward playing a game as quickly as possible

No, not really.
My average real life game time is about an hour and 40 minutes.

Re: Out of the box settings

For me, the pitch speeds were off out of the box (too slow), but since the patch update, they feel right. I went from maxing out both pitch speed sliders to moving them back to default after the patch.

Same. Also more challenging..... I tend to be behind on any fastball at 94 mph or so or higher unless I'm just sitting fastball only.... and pitchers with a really good fastball and good offspeed stuff are getting me embarrassingly out in front of some pitches. Nothing like falling all over the baseball diamond trying to hit a 3-1 changeup where you were sitting fastball.
