Running the Football-Does Anybody Know

Exactly which attributes matter and should be upgraded since we control the RB when running? We play on all-madden. Default Sliders.

Thanks!!

Trucking is huge. Also, I've found that the running plays in the Atlanta Playbook work better than any other plays. Even the same plays in other playbooks are better when they're in that playbook. No clue what it is, but i've tried almost all of them and for some reason that playbook is money.

Spins and jukes are also lethal when playing with regular teams. If you have back who is faster and more agile as opposed to a bruiser I would like to these first. They have thresholds for unlocking new moves which are clearly listed when you upgrade your player.

So my back is more of a bruiser. Only has 85 speed and is currently a 90 overall. I am just trying to get him to run more effectively. Just curious what attributes actually matter and are worth upgrading

1.) Carry
2.) Awareness
3.) whichever type of back you have --> trucking/juke/spin/etc.

get spinning, it's OP as ****.

also higher elusiveness for makes your jukes/spins better and helps breaking tackles.

Re: Running the Football-Does Anybody Know

So a few things, having at least one elite move (TRK, SPN, JUK) is vital. Personally I like trucking more since it also carries inherent chance to break tackles without triggering a animation (like ELU).

SPD: Huge help
BCV: Very important, especially if runs are through the middle. Player is much faster and less likely to stumble when contacting OL or other blockers.
TRK/ELU: Gives chance to break tackles without animations.
TRK/SPN/JUK: Animations to break tackles, at least one should be 90+.

Things that do not have significant impact.
ACC: Not as important as one might think.
AGI: Not that important, even lower AGI is still plenty.
STR: Madden doesn't use this rating anywhere (not effectively at least).
CAR: Not a stat I worry about unless almost everything else is equal.
AWR: Useless while you are running.
STF: Doesn't work very well.

Re: Running the Football-Does Anybody Know

My best years running have always come with a back that has speed above 90 and then good trucking over all else. If you can find those elusive runners that have good top end speed as well like David Johnson or tevin Coleman it makes your life that much easier. To me elusiveness is way too expensive to upgrade so unless your back is naturally gifted with it just go for jukemove unless you have a good amount of xp to put into trucking. Fast backs with good juke move and trucking can turn any small runs into touchdowns in the blink of an eye. After your back has decent miss tackle stats (trucking, juking, spin, etc; choose trucking and one other) I would start to pump up ball carrier vision as it doesn’t only help cpu backs find the holes. There’s actual proof somewhere on this forum that ballcarrier vision actually helps your oline block players in front of you better the higher your stat is. After that carrying is always nice because a back that fumbles is clearly a liability.
