Immortal Musial

So they've announced the added Immortal of Stan Musial. Pretty unremarkable card, mainly because it's number one asset is contact and vision, two attributes that it's pretty debatable if you even want those attributes to be high. Still decent looking though as he'll have high power, average fielder, slow.

But the real kicker, is that they've shown that this card will only be available by playing online in events and RS. Completely going against what they said in the pre release streams, that everything would be available without having to play online and having a PS+ account. A real kick in the teeth, but at this point it's hard to even act surprised that they've gone back on what they said to sell the game.

This year has been a complete disaster in terms of trust in my opinion.

Yep, we have been lied to and it is just one more reason for me to not play the game. Offline players are screwed unless you are willing to flip cards, as you will never earn enough stubs to get all of the souvenirs/players you need to complete these programs.

It's super lame. The grinding is not at all worth it. Been my least fun year playing this game and I've played them all.

Same. My least favorite year actually playing the game. But at least last year DD’s programs kept me engaged all summer. This year I’m already losing interest.

I have the ability to play online but I've never won an online game....so yea, the chances of me getting this one are even more remote as me getting the others.

I'm pretty pumped about the new Adam Lind card though #GOAT

The thing is, playing online isnt even fun. Its just usually incredibly stressful games against kids who cheese everything, or I play someone terrible. Either way its not a very fun experience. Ive had a very good record in this game online but Ive played considerably less each year. The game was way more fun online when people were just regular teams, DD really brings out the worst in everyone as far as ranked seasons and what not goes.

I've always wanted a 2k mode brought over to play in MLB The Show Online and that mode was "Strikes Only". I don't care if its unranked or whatever. I just want to play a relaxed online game of baseball and not worry about balls bouncing in the dirt or way up and out of the zone every other pitch.

Just having that option would be great.

Not defending them at all but if they didn’t offer any specific reward for events or RS there would be no reason to play them if you could obtain the card another way. That said I agree with virtually every post in this thread.

The souvenirs and trade ins this year have now become a transparent money grab. As a result I’m not going to grind stats with 85% of these missions. The first player of the month requires you buy packs or stubs and spend tickets to complete. They changed the CAP this year under the premise that it was too easy to feed cards and max out your player. Well maxing out your CAP is still easy as long as you have stuff to trade in and buy the players required to grind the stats for that position.

Ranked Seasons has become no better than EA NHL HUT....the better your team gets the more you play people with bad teams with no plate discipline and throw fat pitches but your team can only pop out or hit weak grounders while your opponent who swings at everything gets rewarded with bomb honeruns with bronze cards. Oh.....and the PCI is not fixed it floats magically all over the place.

I really love this game but it appears micro transactions and greed have claimed another victim. I’m losing interest fast.
