Has Madden improved in the last half decade?

I haven't been able to get myself to buy Madden since Madden 25 came out, and at this point it's rare that I even play 25 as being a mostly franchise person means it's become pretty repetitive. My question is, has the game improved enough since Madden 25 to make Madden 19 worth it? I'm considering this year but wanted to hear from folks that have been playing more recent versions before deciding.

Yes. Unfortunately the improvements have concentrated and/or accentuated the focus on the flaws.



Back when Madden was 2D pixels, no one cared if equipment was right. Now?


Or how about this more relevant example: 2017 saw Madden put in several sleeve types and other things like shooter sleeves and undershirts. But the undershirts go past the elbow.





So, yeah, the game is better, but where it IS better, the things it still sucks at contrast jarringly.

I mean, even Madden 15 was leaps and bounds better than Madden 25 (which wasn't terrible, but also wasn't excellent), and further Madden 18 is the most mechanically balanced head-to-head football game I've ever played.

For me the answer to this question is a very emphatic "yes".

Depends on what you are looking for.

If you are looking for realism in a franchise mode with a realistic progression system, realistic roster management, realistic and in depth features, then Madden has been a bust since M13.

If you are looking for Head to Head gameplay and/or an online league then you might think "yes".

Yes it's definitely been improving over the last few years gameplay wise, and even CFM is improving, albeit at what most regard as a snail's pace

I’ll say marginal improvements in large part do to what Bucky said in his post.
Franchise has regressed but gameplay has improved on reducing money plays and overly effective offense. But as far as player interactions, movement and better representation of ratings I’d say not really. So yes Madden has improved but almost in no way I’m looking for.

The gameplay is LEAPS & BOUNDS more realistic. It's orders of magnitude better than it was in M25. The one caveat here is I don't play vs CPU much, so I can't say how much better the AI is. But the gameplay itself has improved a ton beginning with M15.

Outside the game, CFM hasn't changed much. Slight improvements on the margins to the XP/development systems, but not received much attention.
