Nice. Maybe this later announcement means we'll get that Daytona release we've been asking for.

Based on some early info floating around out there, it is pretty much confirmed that the K&N Pro Series -- and accompanying tracks -- will be in NASCAR Heat 3. This is great news for anyone who enjoyed Heat 2's Career Mode.

Adding the K&N pro series would basically make it like EA's 05-09 (PS2) games. Now if they would only ....

1. Allow us to scroll through race/qualifying results manually
2. Give us more info in the race results i.e. intervals, fastest laps, laps led
3. Give us a spotter/crew chief that is actually provides useful information.

Re: NASCAR Heat 3 Announced, More Details Coming in July

I'm pretty excited about this game myself, as a pretty big Nascar (and racing in general) fan. Since 704games got the licensing for Nascar, everyone has said to give it 3 games before you see more depth. Here we are - Nascar Heat 3.

A ton of great hints being put out there by Ed Martin too which is awesome. Seems like the K&N series is probably in the game, and a lot of people think that Martin has also dropped hints that there will also be a dirt series. I'm skeptical on that though, that would make for 5 series in the game, not unthinkable, but definitely a huge jump for this year if that's the case.

The best news I think we've been given so far was actually by Ed Martin when he declared on twitter that the Career mode has gotten more attention this year than any previous year and they spent the most time on it than anything else they worked on this year - that to me is promising. They may have finally put the time and effort into making a true career mode.

With iRacing adding AI later this year, this one is pointless to me now. After last years version, terrible UI, not able to decline races in a series you aren't racing for, I realized that this team making the Heat games is not capable of putting out innovative products. I know they have had to redo the entire game multiple times, and NASCAR doesn't help with the constant rule changes, but doubtful this one will be worth the 60 bucks or whatever it ends up. May get it when it goes on sale if it turns out good, but with a true NASCAR sim adding AI, pretty hard to justify getting burnt on this development team again.

Just don't sign a contract for the series(s) you don't want to race.
