How to do a slow change of direction

I am havibg a hell of a time running with the ball be it a WR after the catch or RB.

Is there a method for a more gradual change of direction vs a constant cut? Seems like everytime i move the controller the runner practically stops and then starts running in a new direction and has to reaccelerate again.

I almost feel like cutting should only be triggered if i move the stick and speed burst at the same time.

At this point i am almost holding speed burst down more than before so i do not cut as much but that was not the original intent. Or i am practically not moving the stick at all for fear that the RB will cut and stop all momentum.

Needs to be less sensitive IMO
