Week 1: Dallas Cowboys @ Carolina Panthers

4:25 pm start on FOX. Here we go.

I'm feeling good about Carolina this year. The offense looks strong with Turner's subtle changes. CMC is set for a huge year if he can stay healthy. I said this in the other thread, but Cam has more weapons than he's had since his rookie year. The defense is a bit of a question with the secondary and TD's 4 game suspension to start the year, but the pass rush should be strong again and the LBs are as good as any team in the league.

I think Carolina will be able to dictate the LOS on defense and manage the run game, forcing Dak to beat them. But, Dak might be able to if he gets time. The pass rush will need to get home so the DBs aren't forced to cover for extended periods of time. New DC Eric Washington wants to play more man coverage, so hopefully that turns into some more turnovers. The offense should be more potent, but it might take a few weeks to kick into gear. I'm going with 250 yards passing and 2 TDs for Cam, with another 40 on the ground. 80 yards rushing, 80 yards receiving for CMC with a score, and Olsen and/or Funch with 85+ and a score. Torrey gets a deep ball over the top to establish his role in the offense, and DJ Moore gets his feet wet with a couple of catches.

Give me Carolina 24-14.

Although I will question our ability to stretch the field on offense this season, I think it may not be a huge detriment in this game.

I feel really well about this defense, other than at safety.

I like Dallas in a low-ish scoring game. 20-16.

I’m just waiting for the offense to take the field.

Dallas D has been good overall... there’s only so much you can do with Cam on the other side. Somehow only down 10.

Haven't been able to watch but I've been following the gamecast. Seems like a sloppy game on Carolina's side with fumbles and penalties.

Dallas D playing really well considering they've been playing 80% of the game especially. Offense is looking atrocious though - no identity.

Take away the run game and they have absolutely no answer if they can't effectively run (can't sell the play action fake).

All in all we have to do too much for Dak to have success and that's never a good thing.

Man that is not good. I can't believe he came back so quick from his injury in training camp. I don't know if that played into this, but hopefully he didn't come back too soon.

Re: Week 1: Dallas Cowboys @ Carolina Panthers

This looked like a lost cause, but Dallas is just a TD and 2PC behind, with 5 minutes and the ball.

And that's that. 2 more possessions of no scores, with Dak coughing up the ball to end the game.
