What is the point of the square icon that pops up over your characters head when running a play?? It comes up 3-5 times per game around the 3pt line for my PG and at first I thought it would trigger a cutscene or an automatic bucket but neither happened.

Anyone else seen this yet?

I think it means it's a design play for you to take the shot once it develops.

Its in the beginning of the play when I’m bringing the ball up the court. I’ve played every 2k and never remember seeing this. Looks like some kind of new feature but haven’t heard anyone else mention it..

Can someone answer this? Just started playing my career and noticed this as well but have no idea what it means?

It means shoot. But sometimes the shot isn't always there. A pump fake and drive will usually do the trick.

This exactly. The square means you shoot the ball because thats where the play ends. Its not rocket science.
