Last few times I have picked a ball off and fell down the play is called dead, even without being touched down. Whats up with this?

Probably a side effect of the new patch. They added a new NFL rule that if a player with the ball dives and lands on the ground he is down even if he is not touched by a player of the other team. It is the equivalent of "giving yourself up" like taking a knee. It should not apply when diving for a catch or interception though and hopefully will get fixed.
