Stuttering and unsmooth animations

Hey,

I played NBA 2k19 for over 20 hours now on PC. And i really enjoy the game so far. But i noticed that some NBA players kinda stuttering when it gets physical (when a defenisve player clashes with an offensive player). Not all the time, just sometimes. Even on a high framerate like 100, 120 or 144.

And the 2nd problem i've got: Is when a player moves with the ball, sometimes it looks weird and not smooth at all. The movement doesnt feel realistic or the footwork is off (like floating or teleporting). Like i said these things dont appear often but it's still there.

Has anyone elese noticed this stuff? Thanks.

As much as you might not want to, I'd suggest running the game a 60 fps with Vsync on and see if that fixes your issue. (Assuming you haven't)

Re: Stuttering and unsmooth animations

I dont know, guess i have to do it. But 60 fps or over 100 is a big difference to me. Because it's a fast game and it just looks way smoother on higher framerates. Dont get why they have such options if they dont work correctly.
Is this an engine problem (like Bethesda games)?

I have noticed this as well. I am playing in 4K and getting 60 FPS but there is intermittent stuttering. I play on the Broadcast Camera. I've tried on others and haven't noticed stuttering. It could be the same issue the XBOX was having until they patched it.

  • Go to nvidia graphic settings:
  • Set preferred card to your gpu (instead of integrated)
  • Power Management to "Prefer Maximum Performance"
  • Texture filtering- Anisotrophic sample optimization to "on"
  • Texture filtering- Quality to "high performance"
  • Texture filtering- Trilinear optimization to "on"
  • Triple Buffer to "off" (will have to do in game as well- it's under buffer)
  • V-sync to "off" (will have to do in game as well)
  • Virtual Reality pre-rendered frames to "Use the 3d application setting"
After that, if it still is bad, you can lower crowd/media detail for best results. If that bothers you, lower shadow. You can also remove reflections and volumentric lighting. Lower textures is sad, but should help too.

Edit: Remove Xbox 360 controller support. Idk why this helps.

Re: Stuttering and unsmooth animations

Forcing v-sync to on in NVIDIA 3d settings fixed it for me.

If you do this, set buffer to 3 in the game and triple buffer to "use application settings" or "on" in nvidia.
