Bringing FG% Down

When trying to do this, is it better to bring down shot success by a few ticks or offensive consistency? I'm getting great gameplay in terms of movement and flow, but the shot percentages are insanely high.

Personally I've done both...

I played with Offensive and Defensive Consistency on "0" & brought the scoring down a few ticks for both USER & CPU in 2K18 and it worked great as far as realism because the CPU would miss open shots occasionally and blow some lay-ups which is more realistic... To me it seemed to make them play more to their ratings.

If you think about it, each player has their own individual Off & Def Consistency sliders right? So why do we need a universal slider that overrides their own individual sliders? ....Which would mean if you have those sliders up or down in the Game Sliders then you're effecting all of the players ratings in general...

Thus making them all either more or less consistent depending on how you have the game sliders. So when I turn those sliders off, to me it made the CPU play more human and less automatic every time they shot.

I've got them to 0 on 2K19 now and I can still notice a difference but I will say that you're right, this year the CPU shoots a very high %... Especially inside the paint, they don't really miss in the paint too much, no matter the defense.

I think I might have been using yours haha, I've used different sets and yours was probably the best in temrs of %s but they were still in the higher 50s for the most part. I feel like it's just a game-wide thing, as said above, the CPU barely misses inside.
